I recently had the chance to try Ameen Fish & Wings, and I must say, despite a few small issues, the experience was largely positive—especially when it comes to the food. This place is somewhat of a hidden gem. It's not flashy from the outside, and the dining room is pretty simple, but if you're coming here for quality seafood, you’re in the right spot.

To start, we ordered both the grilled fish and the fried fish. The grilled fish, in particular, really impressed me. It was cooked perfectly—flaky, tender, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning was bold without being overpowering, and it had just the right amount of char. It's not often that a grilled fish dish sticks in my mind, but this one absolutely did. If you enjoy a healthier option that doesn’t sacrifice taste, the grilled fish here is a must-try.

The fried fish was also very good. It had a crispy, golden batter that wasn’t too greasy or heavy. You could tell it had been fried in fresh oil, and the texture was spot on. Often with fried fish, you either get too much batter or fish that’s dried out on the inside—this was neither. It was well-balanced and satisfying.

For sides, I had the onion rings and the red beans and rice. The onion rings were just right—crispy, hot, and made with real onions (not the minced filler kind). As for the red beans and rice, it was a bit of a surprise. Instead of the traditional white rice typically used in this dish, they used yellow rice. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of it, but after a few bites, I found that it actually worked really well. The flavor of the rice was slightly buttery and aromatic, and it paired nicely with the beans. It may not be what purists expect, but it’s a creative twist that shows some personality in the kitchen.

The only real downside of our visit was the indoor temperature. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t running while we were there, and it made the dining area quite uncomfortable. It was hot and stuffy, enough that we decided to take our food to go instead of eating in. That was a bit disappointing, as I would have liked to enjoy the full dine-in experience. Whether the A/C was broken or simply not turned on, it definitely detracted from the overall visit. A comfortable dining environment is just as important as good food, especially in the summer heat.

That said, I would absolutely come back to Ameen Fish & Wings. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The staff was friendly, and service was efficient. If they can address the air conditioning issue and improve the dine-in comfort, this place could easily earn a full five stars. If you're in the area and craving seafood that’s a cut above the usual fried fare, I highly recommend giving...

Ordered 2 piece whiting/3 piece shrimp, okra and salad. Everything was great. The shrimp was the standout, something about that crust. It was so good I almost went back in to get a few more pieces. The whiting was good, better than most I have tasted but not the best I have ever had. However the price, which was reasonable, was a plus. Okra was cooked well. The crust was crunchy but not overly so and the okra was thoroughly cooked. I’ve had fried okra sometimes that is hard on the inside where you can’t chew it, much less swallow. I hate that. I didn’t have that issue here. Peach/lemonade mix was tasty too. The inside was clean and it didn’t take long for my order, which was prepared fresh. For those who eat halal, I asked and was told the chicken wings are halal. Employee/manager were very nice too.

Great start for this new business that just opened days ago. I would...

I recently had an amazing experience at this Ameens Fish & Wingst! I ordered the fish and chicken combo with a few side orders, and everything was absolutely delicious. The fish was crispy and perfectly seasoned, while the chicken was juicy with a satisfying crunch. All the food was cooked fresh and flavorful.

What really stood out was the cleanliness of the store and the customer service — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The staff made sure everything was just right and created a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.

This place knows how to do comfort food right. If you're looking for great seafood and outstanding service, look no further. I’ll...

I had the fish and fries recently, and it was absolutely spot-on. The fish was perfectly battered — golden, crispy on the outside, and tender and flaky on the inside. You could tell it was fresh, not overly greasy, and seasoned just right. The fries were just as impressive: thick-cut, crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and not overly salty. Everything was served hot and fresh, with a side of tangy tartar sauce . Whether you're craving comfort food or just want a satisfying meal, this dish really hits the mark. Highly recommend!!
