The service has always been pretty bad here, but tonight really topped it off. There was a wait for 5 people so we sat over next to the bar until a spot opened up. We were a group of 5. Shortly after we came in a group of 5 arrived and they were promptly seated. The hostess a few minutes later apologized for not giving it to us who came in before that party. We ordered drinks but they never came while we waited 30 min for a table. When we got moved to a booth for dinner we waited another 15 min and someone finally came to ask us what we wanted to drink, we told her we had already ordered drinks. Another 15 min went by and we finally got our first drinks...almost a full hour after we arrived. Appetizers took another 30 min...should not have ordered those and a long time later they came so we could finally order dinner. I ordered a salad to go with my pizza and asked if I could have it before my pizza, the waiter said sure, but when we had waited an eternity for our dinner my salad came after we received the pizza. My husband and I wanted a second drink but our glasses sat empty for a good 20 min and finally I had to ask to order a second drink. The service was terrible and although the food is good, I won’t be going back as the service is just too poor and the waitresses are really not...
Read moreWhen you have a motorcycle, riding it all day to go eat something that people will literally deliver to your front door starts to seem perfectly reasonable, so I saddled up on Labor Day weekend to go check out the St. Elias. It's not very conspicuous from the road, so it's easy to blow right past it (like I did!). The parking lot was half-full at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, so that's a good sign. The outside looks like a warehouse, and the inside looks like they ordered it from “The Generic Pizza-Place Catalog”, but if you're here for the ambiance you're missing the point. Sit on the patio, if the weather is nice. I had the Hawaiian pizza, and it was just about perfect. The sauce tastes like... pizza sauce. No weird mango chutney or anything, just a good, traditional pizza sauce. The crust was light and thin, with a great crispy bottom. I also had two of the Willliwaw IPA's, and again, just about perfect. Light, crisp and refreshing, with just enough hops to let you know it's an IPA, but not enough to be overwhelming. If you're going to be in the area, and you like pizza and beer, St Elias should definitely be on your to-do list. I can't recommend it highly enough. This is the stuff you would make for yourself, if...
Read morePizza and brewers bread is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The root beer and cream soda is also fantastic. I highly recommend it. I get this almost every time I dine here. The wait for food might be a little longer than most places but I think it’s totally worth it. The atmosphere is cheerful and somewhat loud but it’s usually packed with people(probably because it’s out of this world tasty!) so it’s to be expected.
The only thing I feel like I should mention is to not order take out. I’ve only ordered take out once there and my boyfriend and I’s order was very messed up. I ordered a brewers bread which looked like it had hardly any of the toppings it usually had. It was like 80% bread and my boyfriend’s sandwich was missing 2 essential ingredients. What went through my head was that our order was made super fast and sloppy and that we wouldn’t notice till after we got home to eat it. It was disappointing since it was always so good when we ate at the actual restaurant. That’s the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. That was kinda ridiculous. No excuse for sloppily made food.
That’s really the only bad experience I’ve had from St Elias in the many years they’ve been here though. I still highly recommend it! Just...
