We've been to this place many times over the past several years. It's convenient, not really much option to get a quick meal in the area especially with small kids.
We've always tolerated the sub-par food, and the fact that you have to pick through plates and soup spoons at the salad bar because they're mostly dirty. Also, the owner's smell terrible from body odor.
I've seen on a few occasions the owner's son (Marko?) battling with customers and I just figured maybe the customers were the problem... after all, any sensible business owner wouldn't argue with a customer in the dining room in front of other customers.
Well today I had my unprovoked experience with him. My 10 year old son ordered grilled chicken that also came with the salad bar for $11.95. He didn't want (or visit) the salad bar. The chicken came out and it smelled bad. We told the waitress and she agreed, and apologized several times and tried to make it right. We didn't want another dish so she said she'd take it off the bill. At the end of our meal, she came to the table and asked if my son used the salad bar because the owner wanted us to pay $7.95 for the salad bar. We told her no, and she left (clearly he didn't use salad bar, they weren't any salad bar plates on our table). She came back unnerved because the owner threatened her that he was going to check the cameras and if he found that my 10 year son did in fact go to the salad bar, it was going to be deducted from her pay.
This fat Greek baby-Louie looking creep actually threatens the waitresses? What a slime. Bad enough he stinks, but he's a bully too.
I guess we didn't mind paying for the salad bar if my son did in fact use it, but it would be good business sense to just take the whole $11.95 off the bill regardless... to show some remorse for almost giving my kid food poisoning (bad chicken is dangerous). Instead he wanted whatever he could get from us... even if he had to force the waitress to pay for it.
If you plan to go to this restaurant be prepared to deal with dirty dishes, smelly owners, and miserable staff. And if you're lucky enough to sit in the large room with the fireplace, you get to enjoy the stink of chemicals from the bathroom. We always tried to sit in the bar-counter area for that reason.
A few other points.
Marko, I hope you're reading this and you learn to treat your employees and customers better. You are not entitled to be successful, you have to earn that. Start with taking a bath and USE DEORDORANT, straighten out your attitude and treat people with respect, and wash the dishes better.
Best of luck to you. We'll continue to tell the story of what happened today and I'm sure it will hit you in the wallet at some point. Hopefully enough to change your attitude and poor business practice.
By the way, these guys also own the Eagle Diner in...
Read moreAfter the experience myself and my family had last night, I would give no stars. I am usually not one to complain or write negative reviews but this experience was something out of a hidden camera prank show. There were 10 of us for dinner. It was about 7pm on a Saturday. The diner was not overly crowded. We sat down at our table and ordered drinks. We got half of what was ordered. The other half came a few minutes later. We had 3 sets of utensils on the table for 10 people. After taking our order for dinner, our waitress disappeared for a good 20 minutes. My mother got up and got utensils for us! We sat with empty glasses. The table that was seated behind us came in after us and received their food before us. Still, our waitress was no where to be found! That is completely unacceptable. No utensils, no drinks, no food, no waitress in sight! There was a hostess who came into the room where we were seated and she looked around. Never once said anything! She came in more then once too! The table behind was was probably a group of 15 people. Half of them were boys who were rowdy and loud! There were a few younger kids in the group and they screeched so loud a few times. It was beyond ridiculous. The boys were standing off to the side of their table and they were playing ball! They were passing around all of their toys and things they won from the vending machine. They were throwing things and being loud. I know this is not the fault of the diner and should solely be on the parents. The parents needed to get up and tell those kids to be respectful of others trying to eat and to be quiet. At one point, the one father said to the boys, "Be a little less crazy." Are you serious? You are in a public restaurant. How about you tell them to sit down and be mindful of others!? The diner staff could've come and told them to please quiet down. It was something out of a comedy prank. We could not talk because they were so loud. It was now 40 minutes since we had been there. Still no waitress and no food! My stepfather looked at a hostess and threw his hands up. The hostess came over with every excuse. Within 5 minutes our food came out. Some peoples food was luke warm. My mother had a sandwich with one piece of bread toasted and the other was not! Now we had our food and still no refills on drink! The hostess who was just wandering around prior came in to check on us and my mother told her how the experience was less then enjoyable. We had no utensils, no drinks, and the crowd behind us was ridiculously loud. She proceeded to ask if we wanted to move. We said no because we were halfway through our meals. She then came back to the table with place mats and utensils! We were confused. We were halfway done eating and got our own utensils. This whole night made no sense! The table behind us finally left and one parent looked at our table and said sorry for the noise. They knew they were wrong but did nothing to control it while it was happening. Atleast 1 parent apologized. We then got our bill and we were charged twice for my stepdads meal. Everything was a disaster! Needless to say, we will...
Read moreBest part about this place is the chicken fingers wrap! Or at least that's what I called it... Because it finger blasted my sorry ass into flavor town! After a long night out with mAh lady tips fedora we sat down to indulge in some grub. I placed my order and I was greeted with something that was not what I asked for. I was gonna say something but then I realized the place was slammed, with 3 out of the 58 booths occupied to it's full "seats 4" capacity. Never the less, I let my taste buds dance with the devil...oh and Dance they did.. or shall I say "they twerked". My tounge slapped the breaded chicken left and right, toyed with the abnormally warm lettuce that was coated in the most delectable honey mustard sauce. Mah lady even brought it to my attention that the tangyness of this sauce was something she had not ever experienced before. I scambled for the laminated menu to find out more about this secret sauce, this goo of the gods, this coating of chaos. But alas it was nowhere in sight. Soon I felt the urge to make a pit stop and boy am I glad I did! I traversed through the dark, dismal and dismantled dinning rooms. Then finally there it was...a room of rest, the chamber of thrones ...my personal porcelain palace. This room of sanitation was the perfect place to make a brown. So clean, so perfect and they have one of those weird faucets that you can see the water come out like a waterfall. mAh lady started to get worried as I was gone for quite some time, taking it all in and getting most of it out (if you get what I'm saying). I came back only to pay a small bill, and overhear one of the 3 booths utter the words that you never want to hear anyone say at 11 pm at a diner "yah, this isn't what I ordered". The room was shook, as eyes darted every which way in the small dining room. Some of us "woke" folks locked eyes... We knew... We saw.. he was also given the same chicken fingers wrap as I was. This wasn't a mix in the back end ...this was a message, this was a direct message from the chef to us... "What you want is wrong, here let me guide you to a better place". Luckily for me I was in sound mind, body and soul to take that journey. I'm happy I did, my life has been so much better now. Update... That was not...
