First, With your phone in Hand, Plan when you’re done reading this review to have a time in mind, call, and reserve a table Here, I’m not kidding, ask for Greg, His value is going to go through the roof with people competing for his incredible service by the time I’m done writing this review!
There’s tons of Rilplaces to choose from in Ocean City, Look no further, After the first night, I already put in a reservation for a second night out of a little 4 night getaway from Lancaster County PA, I even did what I’m telling you to do, ask for their senior most server, Greg!, He’s the Best Server I’ve ever been lucky enough to have, You’ll agree by the end of this!
From when I entered and met their absolutely fabulous Hostess Riley, She greeted me with a smile and understood the apprehension of a first timer not recalling know what to do or where to sit, She grabbed the best seat in the house available right away for me and in short order sent an equally memorable Mary Jo, The Owners’ Mother, Rileys Grandmother to the table, trust me when I say, You will not forget this Marvelous Soul, Either of them, They’re incredible!, Olivia Made sure there wasn’t an empty plate sitting around anywhere and was lightning fast, and Greg, Our server is really where the most memorable dining experience either of us have had in years begins, He had the best recommendations, They bring bread and super flavorful Olive oil to the table, They allow you to split the Wedge salad and it’s Huge, You’ll want to!, Greg Understood right away I’m a chef and I didn’t just want a rack of lamb with Mint Jelly, He said (pulling from his years of knowledge and follow through but for having him, I would’ve never had this unbelievable, kind-blowing meal) ….You know a couple of years ago we offered the lamb as lollipops where it was encrusted, Kind of like You’re suggesting, He went to their All Star Chef in the Kitchen and It was no problem, and came out in a reasonable amount of time, It was perfectly crusted, just as if they’ve read the cookbook page I had in my mind and in my Heart of the best preparation of Rack of Lamb I ever had, This was it!!!! Thank You Greg, You are Truly Deserving of every ounce of applause and success you ever Receive and Great Big Tips, because You are THE BEST! I am so grateful, You will love him, you’ll love this place, and You won’t believe the food, We never order dessert, it was good!, But where The Doc’s is known City Wide for, are their Legendary Entrees, You can’t go wrong, everyone, including my husband will tell you their “Beef-like-marbled” Pork Chop is the best Thing on the menu, If they have the time and inventory, I can tell You Their Rack of Lamb, Made the “Chef Dan” way Is the single best preparation I’ve ever had, Twice! Read moreWe made a reservation and informed the host of my food allergies. Upon being greeted by a harried server, I presented him with a food allergy card and discussed with him some food choices. I chose the nut encrusted salmon but was informed that the horseradish sauce that accompanied it had something I was allergic to. We discussed another sauce choice, a white wine with lemon butter. My dining partner ordered the caprese salad and the sesame tuna appetizer. The caprese was made with beautiful tomatoes and soft delicious mozzarella. Presentation was very plain and no balsamic drizzle. Just oil, balsamic vinegar and specks of basil. The course salt and pepper was a nice addition. My entree was delivered with the tuna appetizer as requested. The salmon came out plain, not nut encrusted. I informed the server, he took the dish back to the kitchen. When he returned the kitchen had sprinkled some nut crumbs on the salmon. Frustrated, I tasted the salmon which was very dry. I sent the dish back again and this time the chef came out with a new dish, still not nut encrusted just sprinkled with some nuts, mumbled some apology and walked away. This time the salmon was more tender and I was starving. I poured the side of white wine lemon butter sauce over the salmon, plain rice and green beans and found my allergens at the bottom of the dish. The server was called over, he apologized again and took the dish away. The chef came out again, made a clearer apology, offered another dish. My appetite was lost and I was on the verge of tears. Our meal was comped and we went out...
Read moreSo far so good, wait is 40 mins ( we don’t have a reservation)and we are at the bar, kids sitting at the front on comfy benches, ages 9 and 11. We have a wonderful bartender and the Martinis are amazing!! Vanilla, pineapple,, very smooth and enjoyable! All engaging and friendly. I do not mind the wait at all. Seems like a lot of repeat customers. We stumbled upon this restaurant after looking at a few others right near the bridge. We are so happy we got here! I am guessing a Thursday night(after the July 4th) is going to be crowded and we are comfortable in this very nicely appointed , not too dark restaurant, with room to breath establishment. We are waiting for our table outside on the marina. I have seen food that looks amazing and people have been clearing their plates . I am loooking forward to bringing my parents here and friends. I will be taking about this restaurant for days, weeks, months ! Also, the pictures posted do not do it justice, at all! You have to be here to know what I mean. Small but very well done in a beautiful but simplistic shore way. Preppy, Yuppie( if that can still apply) dress code is followed and appreciated. I am looking forward to...
