Ok, where do I start? First of all, I want to clarify that I have been a pick-up costumer at this restaurant for over 3 years now. And so far I have been pleased with both their food and their service inside the store.
This, until last month, when I got an injury, that has prevented me from going to pick up the food directly, at the store. I was left with the only choice to get it delivered. I had a total of 5 deliveries this month. All of them from the same driver: the SHORT , BLOND LADY!. And this is the reason for the 1 star rate.
The first 3 times I got gypped the change without even been asked if I need it or if it was ok to keep it. I am not talking about spare change here, I am talking about keeping $30 on a delivery of $22 and change!
That's not acceptable! That's why the last 2 times I confronted her and I asked her for my change. Both times she replied with a ironic tone and a smile , by saying "ohhh, you want the change back? Sure take , heere !" , making me feel disrespected and angry at the same time, like I was asking for too much.
I have waited tables myself for few year, back in college, and I have never got back to a costumer like that. THAT DOES IT FOR ME! I am not going order any more food from this establishment. Somerville has plenty of other options. I do not need to take this cram from...
Read moreI've been eating Angelina's subs since the 1960s, and have gone through the ownership changes over the years, since Angie moved back to his home country. When I'm in town, I normally stop by Angelina's to buy subs for my family back in NY. My recent trip to Angelina's was disappointing, and leads me to think that my favorite sub shop has lost its moxie. There must have been another ownership change since my last trip, and the new one is using different bread or something and a much inflated price scheme.
Our favorites have always been peppers, egg and cheese; cheeseburger; steak and cheese; and the original regular sub. On this trip, the subs turned out to be mediocre. I'll probably try one of the subs on my next trip, with the hopes of experiencing the same gastronomical feast I've become to love over the years. If the next experience is the same as the last one - RIP. If Angelina's is able ro restore the quality that built its reputation, I'll continue my patronage as I have since...
Read moreI'm a 90s kid, and I grew up in a small town outside of Baltimore near a couple of pizza/sub shops. When I moved to Somerville, it was really hard for me to find some place that really brought me back to that nostalgic, exciting feeling of ordering takeout from the local spot. I tried Angelina's and I finally found that spot for Somerville. When I eat their food, I am transported back to my childhood, watching a movie with my cousins. Highly highly recommend. Excellent quality, amazing service with friendly staff, and you get your money's worth for the food. One thing that keeps me coming back is the french fries. They are always hot, crispy, and salted perfectly. I also recommend the pizza, delicious crust and sauce and topped perfectly. The subs are excellent, and it's pretty awesome that you can get honey mustard as a topping. Maybe underrated, but even the salads here are great, especially the Caesar salad. This is the spot if you want...
