I did a job for Richard Warner. The owner of City Slicker Cafe. He had a broken faucet and no hot water in his employee bathroom ( health code violation which the Somerville health department ordered him to fix ). He hired me to fix the faucet and get hot water to the sink as well. The faucet was unrepairable, stripped handles because he attempted to fix himself. Also the hot water pipe had burst in the winter and was capped in the wall. In order to correct the issue I had to replace faucet, remove sink from wall, shut down main water, open wall and find hot water line, install new shutoffs for sink, and put everything together. I was there for 7 hours over 2 day period and only charged Richard Warner for 5 hours because 2 hours were spent trying to repair the original faucet (which I usually charge for but I was being kind). He continually told me to do whatever needs to be done because the health department required it. The bill was 991 dollars. It has been almost 60 days with no payment. I have reached out to Richard Warner over 15 times with no response. I have sent Richard Warner the bill over 5 times. He will not return my calls, texts, or emails or made any attempt at paying his bill.

Read moreI always like taking extremes, but City Slicker makes that trickier than most. I've been there 5 or 6 times and tried to spread out my selections to get the whole Gestalt view of the place. Some plates, like the Portuguese pulled pork rock socks. But for a basic slice of pizza? You'd do better at almost any of the shops in town.
They're creative, I'll give them that. The menu has a lot more going for it than your textbook pizza/sub shop. I've even been back more than a few times, which has to be worth something. I guess like any hidden treasure you just have to know what to get and what to avoid.
Personal Reco of the day? Get the pulled pork, go next door to Woody's Liquors, grab a 22 oz to wash it down, and enjoy a meal in the conveniently placed park right next to you.
FYI: I'm NOT responsible for you drinking in a children's park. You made that decision...
Read moreI love this place! I know they do a lot of takeout and delivery but there are a good number of seats inside. it’s usually quiet so it’s nice to enjoy a meal and people watch on Somerville Ave plus they have wifi. everyone is so friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. Last time I had pizza and it was delicious. I’ve never had pizza like that before City Slicker and I love the crispy crust so much and the sauce is very flavorful. I’ve eaten a wide selection from the menu over the past year and everything has been delicious. My favorites so far have been the empanada, the steak and cheese eggrolls, the pizza of course, the bolognese pasta was excellent, loved the roasted root vegetable salad plus the chicken spinach wrap and sweet potato melt. Can’t wait to try...
