I wanted to try the Earl Grey Lemon ice cream since last summer. it was sold out every time i went in. Sounded like a wonderful combination. I jumped the gun and bought a whole pint. I wish I had aske for a sample first. This ice cream does not taste like anything. it's Icy. Not creamy. I can't find any taste of bergamot or really any citrus. the aftertaste is wildly unpleasant. The texture is like an italian ice but with some milk in it. I feel like they brewed some weak tea and watered down the cream. I had also bought the Fig and Goat Cheese. This flavor was the opposite of the Earl Grey. It had almost too much flavor. There are little frozen pieces of Goat Cheese in there which are enjoyable when you find them. it has personality. it's very sweet.
My friend got a shake with the mint chip. It was extremely minty. which I like, but he said it was like drinking tooth paste. I disagreed with him. so if you like mint, this is your flavor.
all in all, the service was good. It was very, very hot in there. and I don't think I'll be going back when there's more consistent ice cream to be had...
Read moreWe happened into this shop and ended up waiting quite a long time in line. There was only one staff member when we were there, and scooping the ice cream seemed like a laborious ordeal where they had to remove the tub from the freezer every time.
We got the flight, which is a crazy deal of $7 for 6 "mini* scoops. That being said, the ice cream is not particularly good on average. As others have said, it's pretty icy in texture. The passionfruit tropical sorbet was especially bad in this area -- super icy, chunky, and no passionfruit flavor.
I thought the mint chip was decent. My husband loved the cornbread flavor and the fig+goat cheese. The ice creams all certainly had strong flavor profiles that matched their names.
Overall, not the best ice cream around, but great value and some...
Read moreThis is a nice local business and we wish it the very best. The ice cream is delicious! But be prepared for a strange experience: entering the store is kinda like walking into a broom closet. They seem to have no feel for running a retail shop: random equipment is piled around, there's no sign showing the available flavors, the freezers are half-empty or mostly empty. Often there's just one overwhelmed person serving, very slowly. ??? Our best guess is that they're running the place on a shoestring and can't afford to actually stock their freezers fully, hire the usual batch of high school kids to serve, and so on. Maybe there's another explanation, but it always feels like a place on the edge of going out of business. Hope they get it together, because we do love...
