I was thinking of writing another review of this place after having written one after a not-so-pleasant experience with a barista months ago (I did change the review since it was taken so seriously and rectified very appropriately). That barista I no longer see- not sure why... however, what I can say is that their entire morning staff is AHmazing. They are all so welcoming and genuine people. I believe the manager (I might be making an assumption- darn it I don't know his name) remembers my drink and name. There's something so sincere about him (as a mental health counselor i would like to think these inuitions of mine are pretty accurate).
To make things even MORE fantastic I saw a flyer they had on their front window "what to do if ICE comes to your door" and got chills. As a vivid advocate for immigrant families and someone who works along side of them (I also Come from an immigrant family!) this is a sign of solidarity, tolerance and respect from an establishment in a changing community that has been known for a high Latino presence.
I will rave about this place and I hope they continue to grow and do well in...
Read moreThis was truly the most disappointing culinary or alcoholic experience I've had in years. At 8:30pm on a Friday night, all they had to offer for food were over salted pretzels served with a pretentious side of pickled carrots and beets that appeared to be from 1940s war ration tin. I'd hoped the over priced beer at a brewery might salvage the experience, but with a limited selection of SEVEN beers, and a closed kitchen after 8, myself and my compatriot were left woefully underwhelmed; we couldn't ask for the check fast enough. You're better off buying a sixer across the street and burying your sorrows in Leone's pizza than spending 40 dollars for disgusting pretzels, hot mustard with enough horseradish to set your mouth and nostrils on fire, and beer cheese so solid you must scrape it out with a knife. I had high hopes for an up and coming local business, but I would rather sell my soul and liver to Amazon, than dine at this so called, "eatablishment," before I draw my last breath. Take your business elsewhere, and pray that whomever replaces these charlatans have half a mind to actually care about...
Read moreI was honestly pretty disappointed with this place, because a lot of people seem to like it. Dinner isn’t served past 8pm on a Friday, which is kind of odd and unfortunate— but not the end of the world. The only food was pigs in a blanket and soft pretzels. Went with the soft pretzels, and it was four 2.5-3 inch pretzel sticks drowning in salt for $12 — very overpriced for what you get. The spicy mustard is loaded up with such a lethal amount of horseradish that it should be considered a chemical agent. The beer cheese was rock solid in a small plastic cup instead of liquified, and they almost immediately ran out of beer cheese. Very few beers on the menu, and the liquor store across the street has the same variety, and I can buy a 4-pack of the same beer for the price of one beer at the brewery. I really wanted to like this place, and maybe it’s better at certain times of day when the kitchen is open, but based on my experience today, wouldn’t recommend. Our waitress was...
