This place is a shame not for having bad beer or ambience, but for being so rude and unfriendly towards dogs! This place claims to be âDog Friendlyâ so we drove for 30 mins to have a nice time with our two small dogs (5 lbs and 15 lbs)! We bought two beers and sitting outside with our dogs and our dogs were barking time to time (their barks are really faint given their extremely small size)! There were other people sitting around us being very friendly and smiling at us! My boyfriend went inside to order another beer and while he was standing in the line the guy behind the counter got really frustrated and started yelling âTHERE IS A LIMIT, I LOVE DOGS BUT THERE.IS.A.LIMITâ and even other people standing in the line were confused they asked âlimit to what?â He kept yelling and stormed out of the store and came to me (sitting outside with two tiny dogs) and said we canât be there anymore in a very aggressive way! We did not receive any complaints from anyone else at that place and even if it bothered him so much there could be a politer way to ask us to leave! We and our dogs were petrified and we left immediately! We are not going back there ever again! We wanted to try other food stores at that place but this experience totally traumatized us we are not going back there ever again ! Please mention your very specific rules before just lightly saying âDogs...
Read moreI love enjoying Remnant with friends and their coffee is truly some of the best in Somerville. However, last Sunday evening I had a really disappointing experience. On Sunday evening before the holiday, the music at Remnant was both unpleasant (heavy metal screamo) and unpleasantly and unreasonably loud. My friend with a migraine requested that the music get turned down to a more reasonable volume or changed. The person at the front bar told us where the speakers were located and asked us to choose a seat away from the speaker.
There have also been other times while I have been shopping or enjoying outside at Bow Market and have noticed similarly loud music playing on the outdoor speakers to an empty patio.
I love Remnant and think they really are a pillar of Bow Market but I wish their management would better understand that they are part of a community and peopleâs enjoyment of space...
Read moreWent to remnant after a good run with my buddies, asked if they had ciders bc I wanted something sweet. It's our usual post run hangout. The server proceeds to grimace, say they didn't have ciders, then condescendingly explain to me what a sour was and recommend one. This was annoying bc I'm very familiar with beer brewing, I've made many beers and have my own home brewery and he could have just asked. I played it off and accepted the recommendation. The waiter said "great! I think you'll like trying it, you can write about it in your journal tonight". I was shocked that a waiter was openly negging me in front of my friends and fiance. I felt sick when the waiter came back with the cider and many times throughout the night asked me what I thought of my first sour. Nothing makes a drink taste more awful than open sexism. Will be looking for a new post...
