Best vegetarian poutine I've ever had (including the vegetarian poutines I've had in Canada). The mushroom gravy is really savory and flavorful. Perfect amount of cheese curds. I ordered the "big" size and it was excellent as a dinner portion. I added the crispy scallions as a topping which was worth it. I loved the bit of crunch it added. I normally prefer my fries a little thicker but this was still delicious. My husband had a veggie burger and was really happy with it. He liked the coleslaw on it. They also have a few draft beer options and sell canned beers too. Good spot for vegetarian food but also reccomend it to anyone who is around and looking for a snack to go. Their meat substitutes are very thoughtfully flavored and would satisfy any appetite.

"Saus is a fantastic gateway into meat-alternatives by putting their meat-free spin on classic fast food dishes. Food: I think the most successful part of the foods we tried was the overall taste. The flavors were great, but I think a general hurdle meat alternatives have is texture. Once you're approaching your last tasty bites, the texture and moisture difference from the full-meat alternatives become more apparent. Service: The staff was very friendly and gave a great drink recommendation for my chicken sandwich. Atmosphere: I think Bow Market is the perfect atmosphere and setting for Saus. The lively energy and great variety of stores in the space make visitors more open to trying new foods, leading them to try Saus!"

We were hungry while visiting Bow Market and Saus caught out eye. We got a large poutine with kimchi topping and the Sommerville Dip. They came out in about 15ish minutes. Both were great! The Sommerville Dip was a bit too salty for my taste - the sandwich and dip were both salty by themselves so the combination can be too salty for some. This next part is more of a general comment for Bow Market but it was very hard for us to find seats as there were lots of visitors to the market that weekend. I also don't recall any seating inside Saus itself (or any of the other eateries).

Wanted to give one star for the consistently inattentive service but they're a local restaurant whose food I have loved thoroughly.

However, given the history of how Saus started and the literal name, how can you forget to add the saus a customer paid for, not once, not twice, not three times but SIX TIMES IN A ROW!

I order from Saus frequently because I'm vegetarian and love their burgers. But in the past five months, I have not got the accompanying Sauces I paid extra for or were part of my meal order even once! That's just terrible service.

I understand everyone has bad days but given how often this has happened, your staff does need better training and needs to pay attention to reading very clear orders.

The worst part is there's no way to call or contact the restaurant after you've left because they have no phones or means of contact!

Other persistent issues- perpetually cold fries that aren't salted at all or properly, cold burgers and soggy burgers!

I'll amend the review if they do care to reach out but until then, saying I'm terribly disappointed is an understatement. As much as I love your food, I value good service and won't order again nor recommend this branch to...

Wow, this place was weird. Went in on a Friday night girlfriend ordered the French onion burger I ordered the caulifalafel sandwich immediately after the cashier tells the cook on duty we heard a sigh then a very condescending ā€œof courseā€ ok bro. I asked the cashier what they had for drinks and she just pointed to the chalk board with the beers and drinks on it so I asked what they had for soft drinks and she pointed to the board again, the soft drink section was covered by a board with their specials on it so I moved the board to see the sodas, because I guess she didn’t want to say they had Coke Diet Coke and water?? Her and the cook were loudly gossiping and I got to say, I think the cook should peruse a career in the music industry by the way he was obnoxiously loud belting out the songs he was playing on his speaker. But yeah service was non existent, as for the food it’s overhyped overpriced vegetarian crap you could make...
