I just left the restaurant after waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to come take it order. It wouldn't be a big deal normally but all the other tables that got there after we did got service. Order taken and drinks brought to their table at least. I was really looking forward to eating there as I am a huge sushi lover. No one even noticed that we left they seemed to have plenty of staff but everyone seemed to be overwhelmed by the clients. I give this a 1 star, would have given zero if I could as i felt we got ignored and it made me irritated. If we had our drink order taken things would probably been different. Wish I would have had a better experience on my 1st visit.

Update: 6/9/19 went back and service was way better. Food was good but pricey for a local spot. We bought 2 rolls, 2 appetizers and a dinner plate with only 1 drink (lemonade) and the bill was $100 so it's bit on the pricey side!! There seems to be a lot of people who like it here, it definitely the only sushi spot in town and if you like sushi and don't mind the tourist prices this might be the spot for you. I increased their star...

I’m pleased to say, I don’t have to go into the City to experience an authentic taste of Japan. I had the Bento box lunch plate, with Karaage Chicken, not teriyaki! I wanted to try something new. Karaage is something I have never had before. The portion was generous and the chicken was juicy and tender with a spice and flavor that to me was unique. The description on the menu said “spicy” but it’s not hot, more of a gentle tangy taste. But not sweet! Very flavorful with a delicious dipping sauce on the side.

Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. A nice selection of wines, beers and sake.

I forgot to order Miso soup and California roll. I liked the house made cheese cake. Yet, I was disappointed that it wasn’t made with Anko or green tea ice cream or maybe even Japanese persimmon. Next time I visit I will try the beef Teriyaki and...

I've eaten sushi on both east and west coasts and at some of the best sushi bars in the world. This place is by far the best to date. Not to mention the head sushi chef served us and in detail explained all there is to know about our fantastic dish. I felt like family. The atmosphere and experience was way beyond that of other places I've been. Put it this way the head chef's father and friend who had driven and flown from a far were right next to us and still my wife and I were treated like kings. There are two things a sushi connoisseur looks for in a great sushi bar one is uni and the other is toro of which he had fresh mendocino uni and not one but two kinds of toro it was heaven on earth in sonoma for a night for us. This place is awesome, I'm making this my weekly.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR,THAT IS IF YOU...

A charming sushi restaurant with excellent sashimi and rolls. I came here on a Thursday night, looking for a quick bite with a couple friends. Shige showed up as a good option and I wasn't disappointed. We had the large plate of sashimi which included the chefs special fish for the day along with some rolls including the chefs surprise. Everything was excellent, and the short sake list had some fabulous options. When in Sonoma looking for a low key, but very good sushi restaurant, I will eat here every time.
