Ichiban Golden Dragon — Restaurant in South Bend

Only ordered egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Has been an hour and a half and it’s still not here. I called to see where my food was and let whoever answered the phone that I was upset and that this is terrible service. This seems to be a recurring theme with this restaurant every time I order from here. Staff is very cold and does not put the customer first. The compensation I received was none at all. “Either I can wait or they can bring the food back to the restaurant.” I notified him that I am obviously not the only customer waiting for this amount of time and he said all of his customers do. He continued to make excuses and went as far to say “I heard papa John’s has taken three hours to deliver today” (mind you I’ve never waited that long for papa John’s even when they’re busy and the weather is bad). Food will probably be cold and soggy by the time it gets here. Very disappointing and frustrating because it is not cheap for what you get.

Update: it’s sad to see the response from the owners. The lack of empathy and passion for their business is unforgivable and scary. I have ordered from them previously (occasionally over the years) and you can see from other reviews that I am not the only one with similar problems (despite their obvious poor records). I had been told 45 minutes for delivery not the 90 they have recently mentioned. They will continue to drive away customers with their rude and unimpressive service no matter what they tell customers. I hope this post deters you from ordering here. There is a great authentic place right...

Maybe just an off night, but we ordered carryout after not having been here for many months and were quite disappointed. Rice was mushy like it had been overcooked and there was nothing flavorful.

Beef didn't taste well either, but the noodles were good. Egg rolls were okay.

Half of the meal was not very good and nowhere near the quality previously experienced. We had called to see if we could get a replacement or refund of half the order and instead the lady flat out hung up on us. Unfortunately we paid in a method where I could not use a chargeback and their unwillingness to either offer a replacement or refund was well noted.

I suggest you pay in a format that you can recoup your money if this ends up being your experience. I am unsure what happened between a few months ago and now, but I can tell you I think we'll stick to alternatives including China House, Oriental Express, etc.

Decided to give this a shot after working nearby for quite some time. Can't say I'm disappointed. First off their menu is massive, you could probably find whatever you're craving here if you look around. Speaking of their menu they have some really neat options and mix-ups of the usual dishes. I got Harumaki, Yellowtail Sashimi, and Pepper Steak with white rice. The Harumaki were really good and the sauce that came with it made it all that much better, I also got an eggroll with my stuff which was a plus and that was good too. The Sashimi had splendid presentation and tasted great with their soy sauce. Lastly the Pepper steak was real solid, probably some of the best I've gotten out in a restaurant really. The rice was somewhat sticky and fluffy, the steak was good to perfection, and the veggies paired really well with everything else.

They also have plenty of options for various diets so you can still enjoy the foods you love without worry. Overall 10/10 would recommend trying...
