Meh…. The Italian: squishy bread, and underwhelming. The meat was “Arby’s” style. A curly, thin, and non-authentic texture with a not quite bland, but pretty pathetic attempt. Very slow service. They were busy to be fair (shocking), but the process looked non-streamlined and a little chaotic. Won’t be back.
UPDATE: Mgr/owner reached out and said “We use the highest quality real Italian meats in our Italian, and it’s sliced daily. Our bread is shipped directly from a bakery every week for our subs. We are light years ahead of Arby’s in quality.”
My response: SLOW down and take the time to understand the feedback. I didn’t say Arby’s quality, I said the meat was thin and curly like Arby’s. Italians don’t slice salami into thin curly meat like they do the meats at Arby’s. That is EXACTLY how my Italian sandwich was served. I just went back and looked at the menu picture for the Italian an it shows traditional, thick sliced FLAT salami. So either the picture is misrepresenting the product, or they served me the wrong sandwich. Either of which is a FAIL. As for the bread, I don’t care where you get it from. It’s SOFT AND SQUISHY (like a Hawaiian dinner roll). Italian sandwiches should have a hardier bread than that! I don’t care if you shipped it in from heaven itself, a good sandwich bread for ANY sandwich should not be squishy like a slice of white wonder bread....
Read moreMy husband and I stopped at your Cortez Road location in Bradenton, Florida this morning at 10:55 a.m. We were heading to go fishing on the pier for Mother's Day. There were no customers at all in the restaurant at the time of placing our order.
I ordered a medium classic cheese steak with no onions, hot peppers, and red wine vinaigrette on the side. My husband ordered a medium grilled Italian.
When we arrived at the pier, I opened up my sub to a medium turkey, no cheese, lettuce, tomato and no sauce of any kind. So very dry. Not sure whose sandwich that was supposed to be for. My husband had a very nice grilled steak and cheese with onions, mushrooms and hot peppers, but mind you he does not like mushrooms or hot peppers. I can't even speculate that our orders as to a grilled sandwich and a classic one was switched up, but for a cost of $28, which included the tip, very disappointed!! I could see if it was busy at the time and give someone some leeway as to getting the order wrong, but when we were literally the only two people in the restaurant, once again, so very...
Read moreThanksgiving on a sub ... loved it! First I am not a big deli sandwich person and when I do get a deli sandwich I usually get roast beef. I ordered a plain roast beef just roast beef cheese on a roll .. dry and plain is my thing but I want quality. I ordered my sandwich to go and when I got it ro the timeshare.... happy mistake... I got a plain turkey sandwich (I usually will not eat deli turkey but this was different... they roast (I think) butterball turkeys and shred the meat .... excellent.... the place is known for the Bobbie turkey with stuffing and cranberry together on the sandwich.... I tried a piece when I had a get together catered .... very good but I prefer the plain turkey with stuffing on the side .... but great turkey sandwiches. I did try the roast beef another trip and it was fine as was the Philly cheesesteak (of course just steak and cheese for me no mushrooms etc) but after the turkey I had high expectations and the other 2 sandwiches were typical ... wish there was a location around cape coral fort myers but next year I'll be back for a few...
