we were at the ramada for 2 days. this hotel is by the pool with an open gate for the pool/hotel guest. the first day it wasn’t that bad. it was difficult to find a server. we kept getting redirected to different directions trying to find someone. we did end up finding someone who offered to come to us and take our order. food was great. the next day, a saturday, we came to the pool, ordered food- the requested we paid when we ordered vs after like the day before. the server brought us the food and when i asked for water for my party i was told ‘not from me’ by the server. she explained she only brings out food and later ended up bringing us water but that was extremely shocking to be told that. i watched as another server have an attitude with a few other groups at the pool then proceeded to talk to a fellow server saying that she’s ’not server or taking orders from people at the pool, i don’t have time for this’. i found this extremely disappointing. From what i understand, the restaurant is available to those by the pool. this should have been explained to us but we were told the opposite. that they would come to take our orders and bring us food. While the food was pretty good, I will never eat here again and will be telling everyone not to come here. The server was appalling. They need a whole need staff. again, just so shocked and disappointed cuz the food really was good.
update/ response: As everyone could see, I did receive a response. Like many people, I have customer service experience, over a decade. Any reasonable person would understand it being busy but the idea that your establishment is not only okay but clearly justifying your staffs bad attitude just goes to show the kind of place you are running. My low rating had nothing to do with how busy you were( It doesn’t matter if there was a delay in getting the food), or the fact that we had to go and order our food. it’s the simple fact that there was attitude from MULTIPLE servers. Your ‘apology’ was you justifying your staffs bad attitude. It’s not unreasonable to expect a good attitude when you are paying...
Read moreBeen here three times now & food is AWESOME! My new go to for a good burger & fries. And our server was great. He was super busy but did his best to make sure we were happy. (I never got his name but he looked a little like a Florida version of Pauli D from jersey shore.) However, the entire place felt like we were at an outdoor dive bar in slumville. The first two times we went were on a Sunday & the crowd was totally different. Some locals but some tourists too. Last night was like a whole different place. Every single table had atleast 3 people smoking, nobody was wearing a shirt it seemed, there were just random groups of 3-4 standing around tables wearing bathing suits (which I understand there’s a pool available to use but come on, u can’t throw on a coverup or a shirt while u eat?) The worst part? None of the staff were wearing masks, the bar was PACKED shoulder to shoulder with people (some wearing clothes some in swimsuits) last I checked, bars are NOT supposed to be open, table dining only. I’m all for the opening up of Florida but really? This is how we will get shut down again!!! Then the kicker... the bill has a “COVID-19 surcharge!!” $2 per person. I don’t mind paying even $3 extra if it means they’re investing in precautions for the patrons. But not only were they not wearing masks, one server proceeded to place a chair at our table that someone had just got off of, while wearing nothing but a bathing suit & sweating all over it (i know this cuz my chair was drenched in sweat from me & I was wearing shorts!) never once saw anyone wipe anything down. And even ended up with some lady sitting in a high top chair literally directly behind me. I could’ve touched elbows with her. This is not taking precautions & definitely is not a good way to follow the guidelines in order to keep open. Why am I being charged extra if everything is exactly the same regarding safety & sanitation??? Probably won’t go again. And if there are other establishments behaving this way, dining will be shut down once again & we won’t have the option of going...
Read moreBearded Clam - now Tarpon Bay Tiki Bar. One of the servers was very RUDE. She came to us and asked us if we are going to order drinks or food and we said that we just finished and paid the bill with the 1st server. I understand that it is her section and she needs to make money. We will also order food and drinks in a little bit. But the way she asked us was very condescending. She looks pissed and said , "What are you going to order?" Like rushing and pissed. (FYI- Even if we don't order and if she just acted nicely, I will give her some tip money). Then they moved us again near the boat ramp. When I walked towards the 3rd place where they moved us, the 2nd server came up to me and told me that they moved us near the boat ramp. And I replied, oh it's ok, we are just gonna order again with 1st server (thinking that it was the 1st server's section. She went right intto my face and told me, " you got an attitude mam" and I told her " you are the one who got an attitude" . You came to us yelling and asking what we want and looks like you're gonna eat us." She looks at me very mad and ready hit me. She should not do that to any customers at all. We are just visiting Sarasota this weekend to enjoy time with friends and this what we exoerienced. This is one of the worst memory I've experienced here. First time to eat in this restaurant with a bad memory of this not nice server. This will be in my bad list and I will tell my friends and family of this bad experience. You guys should train your staff to be nice to people whoever and whatever they look like. Especially visitors and new customers. The way she acted was very condescending and I feel threatened of the way that 2nd server acted towards me. She came onto my face like she was about to do something harmful to me. I was very anxious and felt not safe. I even went back to my hotel room right away and don't want to go back to the...
