Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside — Restaurant in South Bradenton

Absolutely beyond amazing experience! We called in to find out what selection they had for raw seafood before taking the 30 min drive and Deborah answered the phone explaining that they actually had a "Big Kahuna" special which was a seafood tower. I told Deborah I was pregnant and craving that & she was soooo sweet and welcoming just over the phone saying to come in with that belly and get my seafood craving fix she explained that I could order it cold or steamed since I can't have certain items raw & she quickly said that they would take care of me not to worry. Sooo much hospitality. We live about an hour away but stayed on the beach for the weekend for our baby moon and just wanted a laid back good seafood restaurant so we quickly got up and went. Upon arriving Deborah opened the door for me before I even made it up the steps. Absolutely exceptional person and so kind. Everyone on the staff was so welcoming and asked us how the Tower was. Belinda was our waiter and was so friendly and kind. We can't speak highly enough about this place, the staff, management and their outstanding service. They take true pride in it and in the quality of the food. The manager Tim along with one other manager came to ask if I cured my craving with the seafood tower. They have two size towers we got the larger one for two people and it had Oysters, tuna, lobster, shrimp, Snow crab legs and Crab Claws it was absolutely delicious, well priced and good portion. Ordered a basic fish dinner with rice & salad, my friends I was celebrating with also Ordered a dinner and appetizers. I chose to order a tray of oysters for starters. They were delicious! Food service was pretty fast almost faster than completing our salads. Waiter was humorous with colorful flair. Yep! Anyway, the main dinner was just ok nothing I couldn't have made at home. The table we got stuffed into was in a corner and very hot by comparison to all the other areas just walking away from our seat noticed right away. It may be because we were seated under a TV and no air circulation in a corner wall last booth seat. Their was plenty of other seating options available so I don't know why we got stuffed into a corner. Had I got there before meeting my friends I would have asked to change seats. I don't like getting seated in high traffic tables next to kitchen, front doors entrances or stuffed into a corner either. I have eaten at many of our great seafood restaurants including this place as well as the other Anna Marie Oyster bar and thinking the seats are not comfortable for what it is. And the spaces at the tables are like trying to seat on a plane in basic coach if you get my drift. Next time I'll make sure our table has free moving chairs not a tight booth seatting. Oh BTW, I almost forgot, I struggled to hear my friends across the small table as the talking level was very loud echoing throughout. This restaurant is very popular in all of Manatee county, especially with having so many stores. When we went to this restaurant we went with a gift card, so we ordered a couple meals, but this place also has a penny an inch pricing for the kids to eat here. Joy, the kids are not necessarily free, but they're not very expensive either with some decent meals for the meat. Me and my wife's meals were pretty decent, she got the butter and Herb shrimp and scallops, and I ordered the shrimp platter. We also got a couple soups and a salad, I ordered the gumbo since I'm from New Orleans. I was a bit disappointed with the gumbo because it did not really taste like gumbo but more of a minestrone flavor and very acidic. I could not finish that. The shrimp meals however were very good. It was also very funny to have our food delivered to us by the robot that they use at this restaurant to deliver the food. We finished our meal with the key lime pies that are homemade here, which were also very delicious and put on a plate with some type of sour apple sauce on the plate. It was very tasty and delicious. I think it tastes like sour apple... Overall. It's still a key lime pie, but the green sauce that's on the plate still reminded me of a sour apple...
