Had previously posted a great review after several good visits, but our last experience was really quite poor. Edit: 9/28/24 Came here for a beverage and dinner, and waited over an hour for our food. One of the managers came to us and said if we don't want our food they understand because it's been so long? We said if you take care of us with a beverage that will make us feel better about waiting. They served us a beverage and then proceeded to charge us full price for it on the final bill. And when we questioned it they claimed it was a misunderstanding. And on top of that the bald-headed manager was nasty and insulting. Sorry to say, but what started out as good food and good service when they first opened turned into really poor service. We literally watched people be seated after us, eat their food and leave, and all we were waiting on was a burrito and a taco? And when we brought this up to the bald manager as to why we were looking for the drink to be comped, he said everybody was waiting? I'm not going to argue with someone who's going to run a business that way.We won't be going back. Hope you're experience is better than ours... Our ONLY complaint was being charged for drinks after being told we would be "taken care of" for our unusually long wait. The dining room was not even full - no wait to sit. Having run a restaurant, you know as well as I do that alcohol is the highest margin thing you sell. All you had to do was comp 2 drinks for our trouble and this would have never happened... Probably would have cost you less than $5. But instead you insult my wife and I after we were patient for 2 hrs? Read moreGotta say, I'm disappointed. The wait staff is good and the food is usually good. The problem is their cleanliness! Two separate occasions I've been in and their salsa bowls have been covered in salsa and cheese from previous customers! Today, the bottom of one bowl was completely covered in food and of course it was sitting in the inside of another bowl...🤮I know they're a new business and being a business owner myself, I would want to know if my kitchen was sending out absolutely dirty dishes to new customers, so I called the owner over. He really didn't say much and took them. Then the waitress brought out more bowls and wouldn't you know, one of them had food (chunks of food) left in the inside of it.... So I called the owner back over and his response was "I'm just gonna buy new bowls, for when you come in" and walked away... WOW! After I got him back to the table, I asked him why he acted like that and he said "do you do this at every restaurant?" To which I replied yes, if my dishes are covered in food from the previous customer of course I do. Like I'm in the wrong here??? Now, I tried to do this the right way and it's very obvious he doesn't care at all. Maybe this public review will make him see the error in his ways. He's always seemed so nice, but yeah.... Read moreWe typically go to the Waxhaw location, but since this one is closer, we decided to try it out last Friday. If I could give it a negative rating, I would. We were seated right away, but it took quite a while before anyone acknowledged us. When our server, CATALINA , finally came over, we were ready to order, so we placed both our drink and food orders. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks, and our food actually arrived before them. The only reason we got our drinks at all was because I asked about them—at which point the server admitted she forgot. When our food arrived, my wife’s order was wrong. We waited for the server to check back, but she never did, so I approached the hostess. The server came over and essentially implied we were lying about what we ordered, even though we get the same thing every time we go to Adela’s. They eventually fixed the order, but we then waited another 30 minutes just to get our check. The overall service was terrible, and we will not be returning to this location. Save yourself the trouble and drive to the Waxhaw location—it never disappoints.
