Cheap Seats Tavern 2 — Restaurant in South Carolina

Update: still ok food and cool outdoor sports bar. Bartender Nikki is super cool! But Bartender Laura is pretty dim. She obviously works the dudes at the bar for her money. I avoid her as my server if I can. Very cool dive bar! The inside is pretty worn out looking and weirdly brightly lit, but the outdoor bar area is super cool, big U shaped bar, grassy area, and a rustic stage for live music sets. Our bartender was friendly and fast, and made great drinks! I had bruschetta and my friend had potato skins and both were really good. We weren’t hungry enough for pizza afterwards, but it looked really good, so next time, bc I most definitely will be back. I’ve read some reviews of this place that say it gets a rough crowd at night, but when we went a few days ago they had us sign up to be VIP members, you have to give your License number and address and such and agree to house rules, and the security guy out front said that since they started doing that it has cut down on the troublemakers coming. The customer base was pretty chill, diverse set of locals as far as I could tell, and no trouble while we were there. I’m looking forward to getting my “cheap seats vip” card, I find the phrase...

I would stay away from Laura or Jorden. If you ever see a space bun bar-tender or a blonde highlighted curly hair girl named Laura, RUUUNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. They told me I needed to start a tab, (not uncommon), however, when I was ready to pay and tip, Laura looked over my shoulder and yelled at me that I didn't tip more that 20%. It was a busy a night... I wasn't demanding... every time I asked for a drink, I got one... but yelling at me and diminishing me as a "cheapskate" because I tipped 20% is disgusting. I ended up tipping nothing and told Jordan the other bartender that she was cheap and disgusting...she informed that the manager, Dennis, was money hungry and told them if they don't reach a certain "tip", they will get fired because the tip equals the amount they sell. Horrible people. They obviously promote underage drinking and rounded up on my tip. Which I have proof of Laura doing and ruining...

2021 edit: Food is still excellent. Service the last 2 time we have been here has been really good too. I have bumped them from 1 star to 4 stars because I really like the food.

2017edit. Unless you are outside on the back bar prepares for poor service. Last visit after being seated 10 minutes to be recognized by waitress. This visit my wife and I waited 8 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink at the inside bar. Only 1 other person at the bar. 3 different bartenders walked by multiple times . 2 bar tenders are outside doing shots with customers while working. I'm changing from 4 stars to 1. Food...
