First experience in the resturant was as follows:
Food was okay....nothing spectacular.
Dinning with my wife at the bar.
The owner was yelling at the bartender throwing objects around and focusing his anger on the bartender making the woman cry repeatedly.
She was crying on more than one occasion and the owner repeatedly acted very unprofessional during my dining experience at the restaurant several times.
My wife and other patrons were in awe of the continuous occurrences.
I pulled the owner on the side to have a professional conversation with him about his mannerisms in the public eye. His first response in an angry tone was that I could leave and I don't know what occurred to invoke the situation.
I said to him, "Is that how you engage in public relations?"
I said to him I'm retired from the city of NY and a business owner. I would not conduct my business in such a manner and your in the hospitality industry. It's just good business practice to not exhibit any kind of frustrations of throwing things around and yelling at employees in any setting.
He looked astonished that I exhibited such a calm explanation of his actions.
He was showing some understanding of what was being conveyed.
However, will it be done again?
My wife and I definitely will not patronize his place and spread the word to others in the community to do the same.
It is a shame to see a man who is obviously thinking he is above anyone's level - especially a woman - making them cry repeatedly and repeatedly. It just displays the lack of respect for the patrons, the bartender and a poor excuse to be a man (business owner) in every way. In closing poor business practice.

Read moreThe food was only so-so, but the drinks were absolutely horrible.
We had margaritas, both on the rocks and frozen, as well as regular and flavored (mango), in addition to a New York Island iced tea and they all tasted bland and weird - is about the best way to describe the drinks at Mi Tierra's. Despite not tasting of alcohol at all, the drinks WERE loaded with alcohol, but my guess, it was a cheap substitute for real tequila in the margaritas, and I have NO CLUE what was in the NY Island iced tea.
Now for the food - the flautas were actually delicious, using a light puffy pasty, but the side order of 2 cheese enchiladas were disgusting. The enchiladas were flat, I mean flat tire flat, and they had the look and consistency of fig newtons. only in enchilada form. They were long, and flat, covered in red sauce and filled with something that didn't even remotely resemble cheese that was more like eating a fig newton...literally. Absolutely gross.
The nacho appetizer was meh in flavor and appearance and was rather small, and the Queso Fundido...once again...disgusting. I don't know what Mi Tierra uses for cheese, but it can't possibly be anything real, or even half way decent fake cheese.
My advice, look elsewhere for decent Mexican food. The food at Mi Tierra's...
Read moreGreat atmosphere in downtown Bluffton. The restaurant is clean and the staff was fantastic. The tableside guacamole was AWESOME. They offer complimentary chips and salsa which is nice as many restaurants have stopped this practice or charge for this. The salsa is flavorful, however, was a little heavy on the cilantro for my taste. The menu was way too large and rather repetitive. I found the absence of ala carte selections to be offputting given the menu was so large. It would have been nice to just to be able to pick what you want instead of comb through 100 selections and still not find exactly what you want. I ordered the Chimi Changa, and that is all it is....no beans or rice to accompany it and no ala cart option to add them to the meal. I found the shredded beef in the Chimi Changa to be rather bland, it could have used more seasoning. It was like I was eating a pot roast burrito and not Mexican food. Others in our party ordered a variety of items ranging from vegi fajitas, enchiladas, and polo poblanos. As I didn't sample any of the other dishes, I can't give a first hand testament of these other dishes, but can tell you everyone was pleased with what they ordered and everything looked visually pleasing. All in all, if you're craving...
