My husband & I went to the NE location on Sparkleberry for date night. For starters the signage was very minimal and we had a hard time locating it but when we did no difficulties finding parking space. We were seated immediately which was great. Our server was ok. She did not introduce herself or ask if we had been there before and just took our drink order. We ordered a beer and a jumbo Patrone margarita. They were great! When she came back she brought chips and 2 bowls salsa, a white sauce and another orangeish sauce. Agian didn't state what the additional 2 bowls were. When I spoke up and said we had never been there before and what were the 2 extra sauces she just quickly said homemade ranch and hot sauce. We gave our food order-husband Carnitas me a chicken valerta. Both were good but the chicken instead of sauted onion just had a half raw onion sliced on top, which was removed by myself. When I made the server aware she said it was sauted, clearly it wasn't. The food and drinks were good. The server abruptly brought our bill without asking if we needed/wanted anything else-came off as rude to do that. Maybe the Forest Acres restaurant has better trained servers, we may try it. Food was good, drinks were good just maybe some smiling faces on the employees would be a nice change and not assume your customer has been there before.

I ate here before inside dining today I decided to get takeout very disappointed I ordered a taco salad. It was very skimpy barely any lettuce which was very disappointing because it was a salad after all. If I had opened the Container before I left I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I have to edit my reply because I went back a couple of days later to speak to the manager about the taco salad the girl at the front entrance said that he wasn't in to come back tomorrow I told her and I showed her a picture of my salad and she said oh that's how we make them now I said oh really I also told her that there was barely any lettuce or any guacamole as they supposedly are supposed to have or they advertise and she said oh avocados are expensive right now that was not the best reply and I'm going to lower my grade only because had she told me I'm sorry for the inconvenience what can we do to make it better but she didn't so maybe a little more better customer service would have been good.

NThe food was pretty good. The plate was overflowing with goodness. The flavor was good The only thing I would suggest is cooking the meat a little less time. It was a little overdone for me. It does continue to cook on the sizzling pan so less time would be a but better. I wanted an horchata but they didn't have any made šŸ˜• my bf got the fish tacos they were ok. They were a little different, I believe if they were fried shell they would have been better. My son in law got the Hawaii flautas, they looked pretty good. He said they tasted good the only thing was the cheese sauce kind if threw off the flavor. I think ordering it w out the ch3ese sauce would be better. They are sposed to be crispy but weren't due to the sauce. When I come back I will have to try something else. The chips and salsa was good. I did enjoy the salsa. First time in a while there is a place that has salsa that is good.

So disappointed in this place! My husband & I arrived prior to 5 in hopes of beating dinner rush; upon arrival there was only 3 other tables. We started w/chicken fajita nachos which were pretty tasty. However, I stopped a server (not ours) to address the missing guacamole the appetizer is supposed to come with. She stated that due to rising costs it would be $2.00 extra when it clearly indicated on the menu otherwise. Next my husband ordered a pick 2 that comes w/rice & beans; he selected grilled chicken tacos. When the food arrived the tacos had nothing but grilled chicken & the hard shell. When our waiter returned, I expressed the guacamole & taco concerns; the waiter literally told me to save my concerns for this review then proceeded to vent to us about the poor management & how his suggestions are never implemented! Upon him bringing the check he stated he needed to discuss the open food item with me. He stated that the POS system & menu don’t coincide so actually the grilled chicken tacos (that had no lettuce, cheese or tomato) will be $3 additional a piece! When he brought my credit card back for me to sign that I had done a split payment on, I guess he thought I wasn’t going to tip him due to the pathetic experience. I learned afterwards from hubby that he pocketed the cash from the split payment! So when all said & done he got the $11 in cash as well as the $5 I guess I should not have left. I have worked in a lot of restaurants in my time & this was beyond pathetic! Rising costs are your issue NOT the customers! Good customer service would have been to let guests know of the up-charge when a customer orders the item or offer to discount the item; not play games after the fact! Secondly, for our waiter to vent about the piss poor mngt. & then add additional monies for some meat & shell/so called tacos is beyond belief! Third, in case the first 2 don’t make sense, the golden rule of customer service is ā€œThe Customer is Always Rightā€. Shame on the manager on duty for their lack of any customer service &/or service recovery skills! This location is night & day from Ft Jackson Blvd. location. DEFINITELY will not return & don’t recommend anyone else waste their money at the Sparkleberry...

First visit with a friend was good. Service, okay. Had to ask for the check, then had to ask where or how to pay. Not a big deal just mildly irritating.

Second visit a week later with two friends. The service was abysmal. One of my friends had to send the waitress away a second time because she wasn't ready. When she didn't come back after 15+ minutes we had to ask someone to get her because we were ready to order. We gave our orders, received our food and my friend had to ask three different people for extra salsa. Waitress disappeared & didn't come back until we had to ask someone for our check. Then we had to tell someone we were ready to pay can we have our waitress. This was late lunch time and they were not busy, We noticed people at other tables were frequented by their Waiters while we waited & waited for our waitress. Hint hint hint ...The food is wonderful but the service with two different waitresses was not good.

The food is good enough to go back to one more time but if the service is the same that's it for me

UPDATE I have returned to this restaurant twice now since my review. Once in May and yesterday. The service has vastly improved and it was such a pleasure! Thank you for paying attention to your customers and upgrading your customer service. We enjoyed the food and then sleep. But watch out if you get that California burrito. When they say monster, they mean monster! It’s huge and you will get more than one meal out of it . Also, sit outside under the covered patio, very enjoyable, and you don’t get the smell of the cleaner that seems to permeate the...

I have been a loyal customer at this restaurant for quite some time and have always had great experiences with both the food and service. That’s why I was so disappointed with what happened during my most recent visit.

I ordered a watermelon daiquiri, and while stirring it, I noticed a small black object. At first, I thought it might be a seed, but when I lifted it with my straw, I realized it was a fly with wings and eyes. Understandably, both my husband and I lost our appetite immediately. We couldn’t eat the meals we had just been served, even though our plates were full and untouched. Our concern was not just the drink, but the possibility of other sanitation issues.

We informed our waitress, who apologized and took the drink away. She later returned and said the manager gave us 10% off for the inconvenience. Despite not eating a single bite of our food, our final bill still reflected about $45 worth of uneaten food.

While we didn’t ask for everything to be comped, we did expect a more reasonable resolution under the circumstances. A fly in a drink is not a minor issue, it’s a health concern, and it affected our entire experience.

We’ve supported this restaurant almost weekly and genuinely enjoyed it before this incident. But this experience has left us questioning whether we’ll return. Cleanliness and customer care go hand in hand, especially when...
