  • Returned*

Chase at Travinia’s provided exceptional service for our lively holiday party of 13! He was attentive, gracious, and handled our group’s needs seamlessly. His professionalism and friendly demeanor made our evening unforgettable. Highly recommend Chase for an outstanding dining experience!

  • Returned** Dropped into one of my favorite spots, Travina's, excited for some appetizers, particularly the nachos with extra tomatoes. Unfortunately, what I received was disappointing. The dish was essentially an over cooked wontons/nachos with a generous amount of wet tomatoes and liquid cheese, resulting in a soggy, unappetizing mess. While the waitress was kind, the kitchen's output was a letdown. I expressed my concerns but ultimately paid my check and sought dinner elsewhere. A reminder to restaurants: what's served to the customer should truly reflect the quality you strive to offer. Sadly, this experience missed the mark. **

I recently celebrated my 49th birthday at Travina's, one of my favorite restaurants, and I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional customer service, courtesy of Melissa. Our party of 10 was seated in the cozy wine room, and from the moment we arrived, Melissa's attentiveness and support made our evening truly remarkable. Melissa's service was nothing short of exceptional. She was attentive, prompt, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire evening. She ensured our glasses were always full, and the food that arrived at our table was fresh and hot, exceeding our expectations in every way. What truly stood out was Melissa's dedication to our party. She regularly checked in on us, making sure we had everything we needed and ensuring that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Her genuine care and attention to detail made us feel incredibly valued and made my birthday celebration extra special. I must commend Melissa for providing top-notch service and for going above and beyond to ensure our evening was memorable. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction truly set her apart. In conclusion, I highly recommend Travina's, especially with Melissa as your server. Her exceptional service, combined with the cozy ambiance of the wine room and the delightful culinary offerings, create an experience that is nothing short of outstanding. Whether it's a special occasion or a delightful evening out, Travina's with Melissa as your server is sure to leave you with cherished memories and a desire to...

I had the best calamari I've had in a long time as an appetizer, but sadly it was downhill from there. I ordered lobster stuffed ravioli which was better after you took it home & scraped off the over powering heavy sauce they put on it. It's not bad sauce,it's just all you can taste, you can't taste the lobster at all until I took it home and removed the sauce & it was great. I asked for sautéed spinach with a little garlic butter or olive oil & pinch of salt. Well first the spinach came out totally raw and not cooked because they didn't understand, I guess when you have line cooks who can only cook what's on the menu instead of chef, that's not surprising. So spinach was taken back to be sautéed, it was brought back to the table and it was completely inedible. It tasted like the top of the salt Shaker fell off when they added the salt, garlic was almost just as potent. It's obviously a simple side dish that most Italian restaurants have on the menu, was too much for the guys in the kitchen to figure out, even though I specified everything, they can't cook something as simple as sautéed spinach if it's not on the menu sadly. I was visiting a relative from another state and I was really disappointed with the lack of knowledge of the kitchen. I would like to recommend they use a lighter sauce for the lobster ravioli and don't drowned it the sauce either, less is more. The highlight is the lobster and you're smothering it with the overpowering heavy sauce. As expensive as the menu is, I expected much better as well. I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it and it wasn't. Service was ok, we had to repeatedly ask the waiter for things, I think he was just very busy, he WAS trying, I'll definitely give the guy credit for that. I've worked in several restaurants and was a corporate trainer for Rare Hospitality Corp. for years. I'm giving 3 stars 🌟 because of the perfectly 👌 cooked calamari and for the effort that the waiter put into his job. Kitchen needs work and guidance though. At least my nephew was happy with his food, it was his birthday and this is where he wanted to go. I'm happy it was my food that wasn't so great...

I normally don’t leave bad reviews but this was justified. On Sunday my friends and I had a reservation for Travinia for 10 people. They mistakenly gave our reservation to another group. Honestly the hostesses were so sweet and trying to make everything great. The MANAGER oh my god. This man walks up and asks us how we are and we say we aren’t doing so good this man says “I’m not doing too great also” in the most condescending tone I’ve ever experienced. He was talking with the mom of the birthday girl and did not look up from his phone one time. He was very dismissive. I’ve been a bartender and server before but I’ve never had a manager like that. They gave the party room away and this man didn’t try to make it right. He sat there and said the customers just knew there was a reservation under the name Alex. He put the blame on the customers. But when I asked him (because surely the customers wouldn’t know there was a reservation for the party room under Alex) he said “well they must have just taken the reservation” again in another condescending tone. He could have just said that they mistakenly gave it away but told us to call the other one. (2 people from our party accidentally went to the Lexington location). THIS MAN TOLD US WELL YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO THERE BECAUSE HALF YOUR PARTY WAS THERE. And we reiterated that it was only 2. He was so dismissive, unprofessional, and condescending.

WE ENDED UP AT THE OTHER TRAVINIAS and it was so much better. Just go to the one in Lexington. I will NEVER go again just because of the manager. He didn’t even introduce himself with a name so I couldn’t leave it in the review.

EDIT: the restaurant commented under my friends review saying he apologized and he did not apologize one time! Even in that response back you can tell they knew they were in...

This was our first time dining at this restaurant on May 19. We were welcomed in, which was the only plus. The bread came out hard as if it was cooked earlier and then microwaved, which we had to request new and the second order came out much better. The main course we ordered was sausage and peppers rustica and mussels pernod . The food came to the table looking great expect the mussels. The shells were shattered to little pieces and we were digging out slivers of shells from the pasta, worried if we were gonna accidentally swallow them. We requested a new plate as we should. The server brought it to the managers attention and he comes to our table. Without apologizing for the inconvenience he goes on to say “you have to understand mussels can be flaky” his exact words. My mother and I look at each other stunned as to why he thought that was the best description for what happened. They cook up another dish separating the pasta from the mussels and the mussels came out better and NOT FLAKY as he would call it. The icing on the cake was when they brought out the vacuum while the restaurant was open. Those who work in a restaurant know it’s not the electric vacuum but the commercial restaurant vacuum that is to be used before or after hours. I wish I had more compliments to give but I don’t. Sad to say. They took the dish that had all of the broken shells on but this was all we had to show that we weren’t making it up.

We were staying up in Kershaw and my daughter really wanted Italian for dinner, so she found this place and we drove 45 minutes to get there on a Saturday night. The place wasn't extremely busy, probably about 50 or 60 percent capacity. The food was excellent, a bit pricey but not to the point of stopping us from returning. We had the chicken alfredo, lobster ravioli and spaghetti with bolognese sauce. Along with the chocolate cake for dessert. All really good. The drawback here was the service. Our waitress was not prompt with anything, from the onset, it took an unacceptable amount of time for drinks and bread service (which is not free). Refills where almost non-existent. Of our family of 4, 3 had to get up to leave before the server finally noticed us to bring the check as she was preoccupied with her back to the tables talking to other coworkers to notice we were clearly done and didn't need to keep hanging out. I think she made a remark we were her last table for the evening,so maybe she just didn't have enough to do and got lost in being idle.
