I love cookout, I choose it over other restaurants. I had left a 5 star review here before but had to revise it after my recent visit. I’m absolutely shocked and truly believe the PM shift from Friday night should be let go. Went in there and got 4 meals for my family. They were rude to me when I was trying to order. Got to the window and they gave me 3, and the bill rang up for 24.04. I asked for an extra cookout sauce and a boy said you have some at the bottom of the bag. Okay? I was confused but as we drove off my girlfriend informed me they missed a meal. I turned back around and got the 4th meal. Has to go through and reorder it. As we left we made it past the gas station leaving lugoff towards the highschool and realized they charged me for all 4 meals on the first transaction. Realizing I was out $10 I turned around to get my money back. I got to the cookout went to the window and informed the young lady of the mistake. She tried to give me a 5th meal and i informed her I just wanted my money back and gave her both receipts. I showed her how I was overcharged. She took both receipts and went to get the manager. The manager comes up and asked me what I want. I explained the situation and he tries to give me the 5th meal again, I said I just want the $10 for the meal I had to reorder. He showed me one receipt for the $10 meal, I said yes there’s another that shows I was “charged 24.04” but actually charged $32 on my card. He asked the workers for the receipt and conveniently they lost the receipt that 24.04. After some more arguing with the manager he painstakingly gave me back my $10. Instead of offering the meal they made by accident after thinking that’s what I wanted, he threw it away very sarcastically. I was overall shocked by the whole experience and the whole crew being rude to me when I was just trying to order 4 meals. Shameful, also not to mention we barely got any food in the meals...
Read moreI was a little bit disappointed after my visit about 1 week ago because the person taking our order wasn't helpful in giving any kind of information to help my decision when ordering and when I asked about the price difference on a hot dog tray compared to one with topings she gave me the wrong information and said the price would be the same and in actuality I was charged 4 dollars extra to add bacon and cheese on my hot dogs and then gave me hot dogs with chili and cheese and no bacon, also charged my husband extra for bacon and cheese to his order of a bacon cheese burger! So I tried again this past Friday night and was given a plain cheese burger instead of all the way and was given a strawberry milkshake instead of banana pudding ....and instead of an apology and correcting my order, I was given an ugly attitude and I decided I'd rather lose money and starve rather than waist another second dealing with such a rude incompetent or perhaps just rude and careless server/ cashier who clearly doesn't deserve to...
Read moreTypical Cookout! Stopped by about 11:30PM on Labor Day, 2022. I ordered a large onion ring, Coke float, and corn dog.
My Coke Float was packed all the way to the top. Looked like about 98% ice cream and 2% Coke. Should be about 50/50%, but I digress. The ice cream was oozing through the straw hole on the lid, making a mess. I tossed it out because I wanted to drink it, NOT WEAR IT! Is it that difficult to leave about a half inch between the ice cream and the rim/lid?
My onion rings were in a small bag and consisted of two whole onion rings and three half rings. 🙄 Seriously????
My corn dog, in a styrofoam box had the stick broken next to the bottom of the dog. Oh, and I left what I thought was a generous tip, the change from a twenty dollar bill. I guess the crew inside felt differently, based on the way my order looked.
Cookout has never been my favorite place because of just such as this. I see the new one in Lugoff is no different. I won't...
