San Jose Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

I have no idea why people say anything good about this place. We've gone here several times over the last 2.5 years and the last two times were utter rubbish. Not only did they raise their prices, but they lowered their quality and service to non-existent. I was served a charred chicken breast with burnt melted cheese topping it. I ended up cutting it up to feed to the strays near the dumpster since it wasn't fit for human consumption. Our server dropped off our plates and practically ran away, although in fairness, I'd have been embarrassed serving that mess too. But they never came back to check on our meal, just to drop the check off. The cashier where we paid was rude, she acted like we were an inconvenience. We tend to be really kind to servers and those we encounter in the service industry because we know it can be a really thankless job, but between bad service and worse food I won't waste my money or...

Quick bite with family before heading back home. Ordered Carne asada Street tacos, beans, nachos, and fried burrito, and all were on point and absolutely delicious. Did not have to ask for extra anything as far as food and table were concerned. Bring your own crayons or activity if you have little ones. Waiting time isn't long for service, seating, or food, but kids think a minute is an hour! We sat under a speaker, so music was right in my ear. The four human booths are extended by using a two top table, ours wobbled at but but made it fun for annoying my child. For what Lugoff has to offer... the food was excellent, and I would definitely go back. One of my top five good eats Mexican restaurants! Parking, it looks crazy busy on the outside. Ive eaten at just about every San Jose in SC. Along with plenty hole in the wall joints. This is not your standard San Jose. No lunch specials on Saturday, what? never ever seen that. So switch to combination plate. No bean and rice standard with combinations? Wow that was a shock. Gotta pay extra, no way I must be dreaming.
