About two years ago, I started coming to this location on a regular basis. It wasn’t until one bad experience that changed my whole opinion about this location. One man, who no longer works there, was extremely rude to me when I asked him to remake my sandwich because he prepared the sandwich on a used cutting board. As someone who has severe, life-threatening food allergies, making a sandwich in such a way could cost me my life. He huffed and puffed because they were busy and I ended up throwing my sandwich away because I did not feel comfortable eating the sandwich he remade. I understand the risks of eating at restaurants; however, there are certain accommodations I ask to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination with one of my many allergens. Nothing hard, just a few added steps to ensure my safety - change gloves, new cutting board, new knife... that's it. I have walked out of restaurants before because of rude employees who refuse to take precautions or people not being able to accommodate my allergies. After that incident, I stopped coming to this location. It was not until about 6 months ago that I decided to try this location again, to which I am very happy I did. They have been the absolute best location, of any restaurant, I have ever been at. All of the employees are friendly and take precautions to ensure my safety. From the start, when I walk in, I am always greeted. The manager, Hunter, is extremely helpful and cautious with my allergies, going out of her way to ensure my safety. When I walk in she goes straight to change her gloves, get a new cutting board from the back, and a fresh, clean knife from the kitchen. She carefully prepares my food and does not seem to mind when I watch her prepare it to ensure it has been prepared correctly (some people get nervous or make rude looks at me if I stand at the end to watch them prepare it). Need I remind, this is my life on the line. One mistake or wrong condiment, like putting mayo instead of mustard, could be at the cost of my life. At this point, since I have been coming here for about 6 months now, she knows my name and my regular order that I place, which is very impressive and makes a long-lasting impression, showing me that the employees actually care about their customers. Kaylee, or Kat as she preferred I think, is another awesome employee that is extra cautious with my order due to my allergies. Tonight, I watched Kat go as far as to open a fresh bag of lettuce (they were running low anyways I believe) and get a plastic spoon to scoop my chopped pickles to ensure there was minimal to no cross-contamination. The lengths these ladies take to ensure my safety is absolutely amazing, I wish every restaurant I dined-in at would take extreme caution like these two young ladies have done. There is another gentleman there that is also extremely cautious with my allergies, although I have forgotten his name. He is a young, blonde-headed boy, but he is amazing with my allergies as well. I have never felt more safe eating at a restaurant than I do at this Firehouse Subs location, which is saying a lot. I just wanted to express my gratitude and thanks to these workers who take the extra time out of their days to ensure my food is safe...
Read moreHelp your employees. What’s wrong with you? I come here during my lunch break often as this is the nearest firehouse. The food? Good. It’s fire house. The service? Great, until it’s not.
It’s heart breaking and devastating to come somewhere to relax for the short lunch I have only to witness your employees having what’s close to a mental breakdown. Because you can’t provide them with the help that they need they’re struggling and the customers are frustrated. Now, they shouldn’t be scold for this review because they’re only as good as the tools that are provided. I’ve seen many other firehouses thriving but for some reason this one is disregarded often.
The AC has been broken 90% of the time leaving guests to eat in the heat and employees to suffer (consider that already working with hot equipment and customers have to watch the person making their food sweat). There’s not enough people to cover cleaning tables. There’s usually only two people to handle lunch rushes (of which usually consists of a large line of people at this location).
This review is in no way a cause of the employees here but whomever is supposed to be running this spot. Do better. Mental health is important and nobody should feel forced to work over their shift because they can’t get proper coverage or have no back up plans for if somebody can’t help them take over.
The people who work at this location in general are sweet, kind and considerate. They deserve better. They go above and beyond for their customers. Being here often I see it time and time again. ESPECIALLY that young girl with the half tone hair. She’s a literal Angel, I don’t know why she’s still working there after I seen her struggle to keep her head above water numerous times. (She handles it WELL).
I can’t support a location that can’t support hard working employees. Come on guys, this is so...
Read moreFirst I'd like to start off with Matthew he was extremely helpful very professional and got my order taken care of in a quick and timely fashion even though he had seven other orders waiting because he was the only person working and nobody else could come into help him , secondly this should never happen in a firehouse subs or any type of fast food restaurant and lastly they need to give this guy a raise because he's doing the jobs of three other people and providing excellent service at the same time which I could only imagine is extremely difficult when you're that far behind. Everything looks so well and nice and taken care of in this area but they don't want to take care of the people that work at any of these stores and if you see Matthew tell...
