RIDICULOUS! DISAPOINTED! TERRIBLE! We stayed 3 nights. We booked for our hilton timeshare because it was recommended by representative to be the best, right? We get there thinking we are going to stay in the big tall white condos walking distance and beach view. But we got out in WEST HYDE PARK! Terrible experience! Service was annoying!Room was disappointing! We got wrist band as our key fobs so we go around all the curves trying to find our “room”. When we get there its so dark spider webs everywhere!!! Door woundnt open so we call front desk stating our room wouldn’t open lady told me she will send someone to check it out because the battery ran out of the door reader. So we waited about 15 minutes no one came. We drive all the way back to front desk and ask for a card key instead. We went back hoping it will work this time and it wouldn’t light up or open the door a couple minutes later the service guy comes and says the keys won’t work because this door opens with a number you have to punch in the padlock. So it takes him about 3 minutes to get someone to tell him the code and we finally are able to go in. My girls wanted to shower so we go check out the “hotel room” to find that there is only 3 towels 1 started toilet paper and 1 extra TP 2 shampoo TRAVEL size bottles and 2 body lotions and one was already opened. Mind you we are 4 people staying for 3 days. I called for room service and about 10 minutes a man in a van comes to knock and he hand me a couple towels and about 3 travel size shampoo bottles. I ask him if i can get some more toilet paper and he walks away before i can finish brings me 1 and i ask if i can get one more because we ARE 4 PEOPLE staying for 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS and he gives me a long dirty look with a smirk and attitude mind you girls use more shampoo than guys so i also asked for some more shampoo bottles. This man gave me things like they were coming out of his paycheck. I also asked for a blanket because the living room had a “bed” that had to be folded down which had no pillows or bed sheets on and he maybe did about 4 trips ti the front door and to his van becuase he wasnt considerate enough to let me finish. Along with the room being outdated i felt like i was walking into a nursing home room. The remote didnt have batteries and it was hard to turn the light off and keep the fan going the lamp wouldnt turn on. There was one single light for the outside part of the room and a big soider in the corner. We all got bruises from walking around the fold out bed becuase the corners were sticking out. Not the experience we thought we would have compared to other HILTON RESORTS. The washing machine had mold and they just expect you to know how to use it with it being a dryer as well. The kitchen had “appliances “ but really it just felt like we were at someones house. We planned on enjoing the beach and the activities at the resort but we just did not feel comfortable so we planned activities around the city. I couldnt have my girls in the small old and dirty room. There was a moldy wooden stool in the shower. There was a “JENGA GAME” but as my girls wanted to play they were all written with inappropriate words like “kiss” “shaven or not shaven” “pick a partner “ WHAT TYPE OF HOTEL ALLOWS THIS TO BE A FAMILY GAME!! Apart from this you are charged $20 for parking oh and PLUS TAX. We went to the spa center for the indoor pool due to the rain and the front desk lady told me i was not allowed to bring in a small beach ball. When we went into the pool i saw people that had a floaty and a football that was being tossed around. Also they add a lot of bleach to the pool we couldn’t enjoy the pool because it just burned our eyes. Terrible experience!Never coming again!

Cockroach in Our Room — Beautiful Property but Hilton Leadership Failed Us We booked this trip through Hilton Grand Vacations and the property itself, Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, is beautiful. The waterpark is a highlight, the amenities are solid, and our family genuinely enjoyed many aspects of the resort. Special shoutout to Delores at the front desk, she was an absolute gem. Polite, calm under pressure, and the only person we interacted with who seemed to care about guest satisfaction. But unfortunately, our experience was severely impacted by poor leadership and a total lack of accountability when a serious issue arose. We discovered a cockroach in our room. I reported it to the front desk and asked to speak with management. I needed to wait 2 more hours for the leadership to come in for the day so I was not offered a return call, new room or an apology at this point. Once I waited and went down in person to speak with management, I was told the Director of Front Office, Drew Morgan, was “too busy” to speak with me. Not off site, not in an important meeting he couldn’t get out of — just too busy to address a pest issue in a guest room. They sent a supervisor instead, who admitted they could not offer any help. After pushing again, Drew finally came out. He was dismissive, unprofessional, and never once offered an apology or even owned the problem as a leader would. His demeanor made it clear he had no interest in resolving the issue or preserving the Hilton name. Eventually we were moved to a different room, but instead of being placed in something equal or better, we were downgraded from an updated two-bedroom villa to one that looked straight out of the early 90s. Worn, old furniture, outdated finishes. Made my kids sad to move into this room. Not exactly the experience you want when you plan a vacation for your kids. I later learned Drew has been at this property for 18 years. Based on our experience, that does not reflect well on Hilton’s management standards or training. It was one of the worst displays of leadership I have encountered in over a decade of travel. I also noticed that the General Manager, Randy, frequently replies to guest reviews stating that the property is not meeting Hilton standards. Unfortunately, it does not seem like anything is actually improving. The recurring issues and the complete lack of accountability from leadership suggest there is a systemic problem here that continues to be brushed aside. The front-line staff and amenities were great, but this property is being held back by leadership that does not reflect the level of service expected from the Hilton name. If you book here, just know that if something goes wrong, you may be on your own because management certainly will not be stepping up to help you.

My family and I decided that it was time to take a vacation, and what better place to go for fun and relaxation other than Myrtle Beach. So I decided to start surfing the web for nice places to stay and ended up spotting the Kingston Plantation which happened to be a Hilton Brand hotel/resort. With an ideal location. It had options to stay at villas, condos, etc, 9 swimming pools, a spa, fitness centers, private beach access, a water park and so forth. However.... what I didn't realize was that it was not all Hilton owned. Basically, the condos, lodges, and villas all had private owners that maybe had some type of contract going on with the Embassy and Hilton and whomever else. I arrived on the resort and was informed by the guards at the gate (whom were all awesome by the way) that I would need to go to the Embassy Suites to check in. The young lady that checked me in seemed a bit snarky, which instantly put a bad taste in my mouth, but I had just driven a little over 5 hours for this vacation and I wasn't about to let her steal my joy, so I just kind of let that go. I was not given proper directions on how to get to the property in Laurel Court where I was going to be staying so I left the embassy and drove around about 15 minutes in a circle looking for our unit. Finally it was found. Walked in and it was quite nice, however my daughter used the bathroom and the toilet wouldn't flush. I called back to front desk where I was on hold for well over 5 min, finally I spoke to someone that stated she would move us to a different unit which she did and it had such a beautiful view of the lake. However, there were several issues that I found and tried to sweep under the rug.

-First unit wasn't a lake view unit as described -Maps of resort aren't helpful -Elevators were old, outdated and had a very musty smell -Six giant cockroaches were found, 1 in the hallway, 1 on the dresser, 1 in the kitchen and another in the first bathroom, and two on the balcony -Splash area/water park was for small kids, so my kids didn't utilize (waste of resort fee) -$10 a day for parking when golf carts took up those spaces even though they had golf cart parking spaces (waste of money) Dirty pans and plates that hadn't been washed good, but was actually put away in cabinets -Oven door had old food stains as if something boiled over and dripped down it -Refrigerator had a lot of dried up spills -Strands of hair was in the floor behind the door of the master bathroom -Cracked tiles in the kitchen -Homeowners association had the pool next to our building closed, which was very disappointing, so the only pools you could use were off property at the Hilton Hotel, the two near the splash pad, or the one inside the fitness center. -Pillow cases were stained with ink or dye or something disgusting, have pics that I can upload to back up everything

I finally became fed up and called and spoke to someone at front desk (who was pretty helpful) who offered to move us into a different unit, but we weren't interested because it was going to make the third move, and we had already unpacked, disinfected, made groceries and so forth. She also offered me ONE complimentary night because of a discount that I received. Which in my opinion regardless of what, I should have been better compensated, because I was still a paying customer who had a pretty shabby stay. The amount of money that I paid for my stay was still a huge amount and they could've done better than what they did to compensate me for all the inconvenience that was caused. I will definitely look for another place to stay going forward. Normally Hilton never disappoints, but this time it was a huge upset!!!! Please...

Check in was confusing with there being no front desk or anyone in the Brighton building. My wife even worried about the security seeing we could walk right in and go up the elevator without a room key. We discovered you have to go into the Embassy Suites next door for everything (check-in, food, even beach towels). The lobby and common spaces inside the Brighton and Embassy Suites were nice so we thought we had still made a good choice but that quickly changed. The resort fee is a bit of a joke since the fitness center and tennis courts are a 10 minute walk away, not in or by the hotel and the pool area was under construction so just factor it into the price of the room and don't expect to use the facilities. The weather was nice for our trip so we'd spend our time on the beach so we were able to look past it. We were very disappointed in our Ocean View room, not worth the higher price for our room. Unlike the pictures and most oceanfront hotels, in our room when we first walked in we did not see the ocean, just the building next to us and parking garage below (we'll come back to that) since the room was furthest from the beach on the side of the building, not beach facing. Laying on the right side of the bed or on the balcony we did have a nice view of the pier which was nice to be close to when we walked the beach. Our room was very much out of date to the point that the TV was on a rolling cart and the bed slanted to the middle and was not at all comfortable. To make matter worse, we had only 3 small (almost throw size) pillows and had to make multiple requests before getting any additional pillows for our second night after our back and hips hurt from the first night (we aren't that old). We made requests for more pillows in the Hilton app at 9am, at the front desk (at the Embassy, no one in Brighton) at noon (but they have no pillows at the front desk, they are in a "different department"), in the app again at 1pm, then when we still had no pillows when we started getting ready for dinner we requested again in the app at 5:30pm, after no response, I called the number in the app and was placed on hold for 15 minutes so I walked back to the front desk (next building over remember) and was told they'd have them right up. By 6:45pm we messaged again in the app but had given up and went to Walmart to buy our own pillows since we still had not gotten them. Finally at 7:08pm we got the first reply in the app saying again they'd move it to the top of the list. When we arrived back we had finally been given 3 additional small pillows that were left in our room. The next morning we were woke up by the fire alarm going off in the parking garage just below our room for 30 minutes and then at 8:30am someone hammering on the wall next to our bed as if they were hanging pictures. I usually am not one to write reviews but the icing on the cake was on our elevator ride down to leave we had another guest ask us about our room and she was similarly displeased so I thought I'd warn others that if you travel often, this property is not up the normal Hilton standard. The location was good, being on the beach and just a 5-10 minute drive to tons of shopping or dinning but don't stay here if you want a good night sleep or...
