Hibachi Express — Restaurant in South Carolina

The food is always delicious to me The honey chicken dish is one of my favorite things to order here! I also love the teriyaki chicken shrimp and steak. The wontons are a hit or miss, mostly I've only gotten a fried wonton but with little to no filling inside and that can be disappointing because you expect the wontons to be filled with cream cheese. No disrespect to this place by no means but just a request from a loyal customer to fill the wontons with filling. The wings aren't good as they are very small and overcooked little to no meat. Will I continue coming here yes. The atmosphere could be better but usually I'm not too concerned about it because the food is delicious and I am there to eat not sight see but the decor and restaurant could have better if maybe redone. The bathroom is just a bathroom small but be very careful of using it as it doesn't appear to be sanitary. The lady is always nice upfront and I've always been treated with respect there. I do recommend it if you want some good around the way Chinese food,.it's local to my area so I've always eaten here. I do recommend the honey chicken,.it is comforting and filling. It's about like a sesame chicken but with glaze on it and I get it almost every time I go. It's great for a good lunch grab and it's affordable. It's good 😊 their Always courteous and busy. I appreciate the woman upfront as she works so hard she always brings your food to you at the table. She deserves every TIP she can have 🌹 that's really nice and she does it all with little to no tips. So I suggest tipping her and the cooks shall you're heart desires. They deserve it. They work hard. I'll continue to come here as I love the food and it's not too crowded as that's a pet peeve for me. I like low volume places. You'll see people coming in and out ordering but that's expected. It is a diverse set of people that come to eat here if all ethnicity. I love that. It makes me feel welcomed immediately. Visited yesterday and dined in. Service was exceptional but not excellent. I ordered the sesame chicken with rice & it was exceptional but not excellent. It could have been better. My sesame chicken tasted re cooked like it had been rewarmed but not fresh. Same as for the rice it was not fresh but re heated. I also ordered a side of 8 chicken wings. I will never get them again at this place. There was hardly any chicken on the bones and what I received was basically breaded fried bones. That was a rip off. And the wings were torn into small sections and they were very small. I wouldn't recommend those. However my friend got the beef and chicken teriyaki plate and it was good. My egg roll was good. It was about the only thing I had that was fried fresh. I want to recommend this place to please get bigger wings and cook all food fresh. It makes a big difference. I would've left more stars but for the satisfactory of my food I would say it was below average. Maybe fair. I've visited more than twice and I will keep giving them a chance but things have to be better than they are. Those we're the worst wings at a Chinese place I've ever had. The food is still just as great. We get our favorites. I still prefer thier sushi and hibachi over all restaurants I've tried. They have done away with coming in the restaurant due to covid-19. They are doing exclusively take out. My family still gets it once or twice a week. They have a walk up to window. We call our order in ahead. It is still quite busy so when they tell you it will be 20 minutes that is the reality. This is my favorite restaurant still. I feel like I get healthy food here. They do not over do the meat amounts in proportion to the vegetable. So many restaurants just give you so little vegetable and so much grade. Hibachi Express does not.
