I'm from up North and was driving through and wanted dome authentic Southern food and googled some spots as the guy at the hotel recommended a chain restaurant that I frequent at home. I wanted something local and came across this establishment. It received rave reviews from locals as well as people passing through off the interstate! The pics looked good and I was ready! I really wanted to try the chicken and waffles with peaches, but it wasn't on the menu. it must not be a b'fast item 😔. I got cheese grits, sausage gravy and biscuits with brown sugar bacon and eggs. OH MY GOSH, IT MUST JUST BE ME AND MY YANKEE taste buds, because I couldn't even eat it! Let me start off by saying that I'm NOT a fan of gravy and biscuits, but it's like 1 of those things that I should like and I want to, yet everything I try it, I don't and this was no exception. The bacon was sickeningly sweet and ask anyone I know and they'll tell you that I am a sugar head, but it was too much for me. I love bread, I'll take a good bread item over chocolate, but I wasn't feeling the biscuit either. The grits I ate, scraped the cheese off, tried it, it was okay, bit since I was hungry, had to stick with what I knew, so nixed the cheese and yesssss, added sugar to my grits and they were good! Soo I gave 3 stars because it's probably just me, I really didn't care for any of the food in the Carolinas at all! And may the cook was just having an off day? But let me tell you, that the staff was awesome! From the helpful young girl that took my order, to the nice young lady that brought my food out to the table! The place was full of people and they seemed to be more than happy with their food, soo yea, just me probably.

This is the place you come for that good home cooking. Visited for the first time, and I was so impressed. The place was simple yet impressive. The service was great and the people were friendly. I got the shrimp and grits, and the texture of the grits was phenomenal. I have never had anything like them. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sausage was delicious. The food arrived in a timely fashion, and we were checked on periodically. Definitely can't wait to go back.

I have heard a lot of good reviews about this place. The menu is the best looking thing about this place. Don’t believe the hype. Small portion size, please see attached photo. Paid $15 per person and got served either dog food, prison food, meals on wheels, or straight out the can idk. Got pot roast with gravy rice biscuit and cabbage with pork. The cabbage with pork had absolutely no pork at all. I was thinking maybe it had some sausages in it or something but nope straight out the can from McCall Farms. Collards were actually mixed in a little and had that foul taste of whatever simply season canned vegetables have in them. Waited on biscuits for about 20 mins. Idk why because you could taste the bisquick batter in those. Pot roast wasn’t what was expected either. Tastes like stew beef out the can with maybe 2 pieces of carrot thrown in. Pot roast tastes like it came from the government stipend. Rice is also trash. Minute rice. It will get you full, but it is all trash. It isn’t as good as the menu depicts it out to be. It all taste thrown together like in a Home Economics class when the young adults don’t really understand how to cook yet from scratch with flavor. Very off brand and generic foods and flavor.

My birthday dinner was amazing. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive. The place has moved to a little strip mall from the Farmer's Market barn, just three days ago. Confused hell outta Waze, who's voice kept telling us one thing while the map kept pointing to another. Finally found the place. We were kinda wondering what was going on, because we were literally the only customers in the place. But soon there was a constant flow of carry out customers, carrying out huge amounts of food. As soon as we ordered, we found out why. Everything on the menu is very reasonably priced, and the food is amazing! Fresh brewed iced tea. We got the pulled pork egg roll with Carolina mustard bbq sauce to dip for the appetizer. Why the hell didn't I ever think of this? Donna got the pot roast dinner, and I got the shrimp and grits. The pot roast, mac and cheese were fantastic. But let me tell you about the shrimp and grits. REAL hominy grits, not like the ground corn grits you get almost every else in the country except Low Country. The grits were cheesy and gooey and the cheese just kinda oozed into the Low Country gravy. The shrimp were sweet and juicy, good sized and plentiful. And the Andouille sausage added just the right amount of heat. A serving so large that I struggled to finish for $8.99! The service was fast, the waitress friendly and helpful. My better half did something she never does. She ate a whole very large plate of roast beef, mac and cheese, and green beans. And she finished ahead of me. She immediately took a nap when we got home! We have business in Florence next week, and we will definitely be stopping in...
