I received a TEMU cake for my event. I reached out to baker via FB messenger and provided pictures of what I wanted for my cake. We also spoke on the phone and I specifically asked if she was familiar with the theme for my baby shower âHere Comes the Sonâ, her response was âyesâ. I explained colors and theme. Since I am located in a different state I know it was a risk ordering from an unknown baker but I remained positive since I know baker can Google theme. My order according to Gerry âwas not properly handleâ and after receiving my order I saw what he was talking about. My order was not on the delivery schedule for that Saturday and it was not properly handled during delivery which cause damage to cake and cupcakes. The baker who did my order was Miya and I honestly think she didnât receive correct instructions from the owner for my order. Cake had damaged which could had been done during delivery, cookies were not individually packed and cupcake's frosting was also damaged. One cupcake was removed from wrapper and placed in another of what I was told but in my opinion baker could had just replaced the cupcake with a fresh one. Cookies were just in a boxed and was told wrapping was available but I was never given that option. All my guests took the wrapped cookies since it was convenient to take rather than the unwrapped ones. Many of my guests made comments that cake didnât looked and tasted freshly baked. I ordered cookies from another baker and you can see the difference in presentation. I honestly feel presentation is what many customers look for when it comes to orders for special events. I reached out to the bakery and so far have only received excuses. I personally do not recommend or will ever make any orders with this bakery. I know the cost of beautiful cakes an what I received was an extreme disappointment. Owner stands by her service and bakers (according to her msg on FB) and feels that nothing was wrong. Claims cake was never damaged and that my picture does t show...
Read more11/29/22 UPDATE: They made it right for me! Friday they were still closed for the holiday. I don't live in town and had to leave early Saturday morning, so my family member who lives in town, went to the bakery with the pie and explained and showed them what it looked like when we opened it. (Pics below) they sincerely apologized, refunded the full amount and has offered to make us another pie free of charge, when the need for one arises. Which probably won't be until next Thanksgiving. So hopefully they will still honor the free pie then.. I am happy with the resolution and will still recommenend them. We will just Check our order before we leave the bakery. đ 11/24/22 UPDATE: I haven't been able to have a pie from here in 2 years and I ordered one of their Cherry pies this year. I was so excited, we loved their pies two years ago. This pie??? Was nothing but a hard gelatin like substance. It was truly awful!! I dont know what happened in two years but clearly something has changed. We will be going to the shop tomorrow with the "pie" because for $30+ dollars I deserve something that looks and tastes like a pie. This was not it!!! The attached pictures are the 2022 cherry "pie".
I retract the below review!!! For now... We ordered 3 pies (Apple, Pumpkin & Cherry)from here this year for Thanksgiving. They were all very tasty; but my favorite was the cherry. It was one of the best Cherry pies I have tasted in a while. So good! Please give them a try if you are looking for some good pies or pastries. I had a really good raspberry cream cheese Danish too. Just a note: They make the pies fresh when you place your order, so give them a few...
Read moreAfter reading some of the other reviews, Iâm glad that it wasnât just me. I walked in to pick up an already paid for birthday cake. The man (Iâm guessing owner) was sitting down on his phone, looked up and went behind the counter. Didnât wash his hands. Didnât say a word. I said âHi, Iâm here to pick up a birthday cake under the nameâŚâŚâ He shuffled thru a bunch of cake orders and then brought out this huge cake box that I knew wasnât mine and removed the top to show me the cake. I looked at it and said âno, thatâs not mine.â He picked up an invoice and showed it to me and I said that wasnât my name. I told him my name again and the size of the cake and color and details. He shuffled the invoices again and grabbed the big cake box and proceeded to go in the back for the correct cake. Upon walking away, he accidentally stumbled with that cake, causing to either fall completely to the ground or hit the side of the case. I couldnât see because it was out of my vantage point but I heard him mumbling something under his breath. He came back with my cake and I saw it was correct and said thank you. He turned around, walked away and disappeared. He said not ONE word during the whole transaction. The next time I need a birthday cake or any pastry for that matter, I will absolutely drive out of my way to go to another bakery. At âLife is Sweet Bakery,â they are fresh out of courtesy, professionalism and...
