I stopped by before church because my teenage son wanted a soda. I dropped him off at the front to buy a soda because we had 10 minutes to get to church. He returned a minute later. He was told by a cashier that he wasn't allowed to shop without a parent. Now my son is a black child and the Dollar Tree is in a predominantly black area. We don't live in the area so I immediately parked the car and went inside. The manager was at the front and l asked "who told my child he couldn't shop" aloud and She seemed to disregard my question. I repeated "WHO TOLD MY CHILD HE COULDN'T SHOP". The white lady manager said she was on the phone and a young black lady cashier stepped up and told me that she did. I asked her "You told my child that he couldn't shop here" at this point I had everybody shopping was focused on the conversation. The cashier said the manager and pointed to the brown-haired woman told her that kids were not allowed to shop without a parent. The Manager turned to her and said "No, I told you only after school kids can't shop without a parent". Now they are arguing 😑 it's a Sunday and I said "So my child can shop" and turned and left the store. I told my son to go into the store and buy his soda. I watched him from the car, get his soda, and go to the register. A shopper who heard the conversation paid for his soda. As we were leaving out the shopping Plaza, a police cruiser came in and stopped in front of the Dollar Tree. I wouldn't shop here if it was the last store...
Read moreDo y'all pay your employees a dollar an hour, too? Because if so, that's about what you've got. I often shop at Dollar Tree in other locations and am quite pleased with the stores. This one was low in the inventory I was looking for, though I bought several other things. I was shopping with my aunt (who had to ask another customer if she was done with her buggy, because there were none available), but my aunt started to feel unwell, so she went out to the car and I stayed to pay for both our items. I kept mine separate from hers in a basket and was paying for her items first. The cashier started complaining about how people can't bother to empty their baskets and then proceeded to dump my items on the counter, at which point she dumped out a drink that was in the basket and essentially blamed me for having a drink in the basket. She then complained about how many baskets were building up on her counter, and pointed out to the carts customers had left in front of her register. Completely unprofessional. The guy at the register behind her proceeded to complain along with her about how nobody can bother to put their carts away. I can't believe I actually apologized for her dumping out my drink. I was standing there feeling bad for buying things. I won't go back...
Read moreI dont know the name of the two ladies working tonight. But the store was highly disorganized with boxes everywhere. Althought the cashier was polite and accomendating the night manager was not. She was not aware of anything that was going on around her. she did not greet customer's and had earphones in her ear. The line was so long that people began to complain. The cashiers was doing her best to give 100% percent satifaction. I had to physically get out of line to tell the manager that the cashier needed her assistance. Her clueless reply was "I told her to call me". This angered me because of how busy the cashier was, I am sure she did not have the time to call the manager. The very meaning of manager is a person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a company or similar organization. I would highly recommend you guys retraining her or giving the position to the cashier who through all the customers complaints never lost her ability to smile and make the best of...
