Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

We were seated fairly quickly considering it seemed to be a very busy night. We chose Mexican food because generally, Mexican restaurants we frequent in other cities get food out super fast and eating out with kids is so much easier when you can get in and out within an hour. We sat for 25 minutes without chips and salsa or drinks, but we were trying to be courteous and give them the benefit of a doubt since the restaurant was full. After we finally got drinks, it still took another 15 minutes to order and then the real waiting began. We had to keep asking for refills on our drinks as we waited. We took the kids out to walk around the building 50 times to try to keep them busy. We talked about leaving, but by this time, our options with cranky kids would have all been fast food. An hour and a half after sitting down, we finally asked for a manager. And suddenly our food couldn't come out fast enough. They didn't even send a manager. They sent some assistant who said the manager was busy and he would be happy to relay anything we said to the manager. We told him how upset we were with the service and how long it took our food to get out. He said they were short cooks, but that doesn't explain the poor service. He offered a small discount, but it seemed poor compensation when kids are so hungry and trying to keep them happy in a restaurant for long is difficult at the best of times. The food isn't even that great. So pretty much poor service, takes forever to get food, and the food isn't spectacular. We will not be...

I am very displeased with how I was treated here tonight. I absolutely love this place and eat here twice a week if not more. The employees know me and many of my friends. I ate with a group of people tonight that ate and left at various times, therefore the ticket was left at the register for payment by each guest. This has NEVER been a problem. This restaurant doesn't split their tickets. I go up to pay and the cashier/owner tries to force me to pay for food I didn't order. I explained to him that people were still eating with the group and would be up to pay later. He then told me that last time our group came in they didn't pay for one of the cheese dips that was ordered. I let him know that I was not at the last meeting and that the cheese dip was not mine. He continued to try and make me pay for it. Finally, after numerous times of explaining to him that I was not ripping him off, he just charged me for what I ate. He then jerked my debit card out of my hand, swiped it, and slammed it down on the counter in front of me. It took everything in me not flip the counter over on top of him. I have NEVER been treated this way. I spend a lot of money in this place. They ought to be ashamed. You don't treat your long time customers that way! This was bad business! The service was great. They made a mistake on my wing's so l ended up getting full on the cheese stick's l ordered so l had her box my wing's to go. I have to say l was disappointed because l live in Georgia and wanted to have Dinner with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. I still enjoyed the time with them and it wasn't the servers fault the cook got my order wrong. When l got home l tried to eat them but the cook had let them cook too long. I have eaten wing's cold and never had the problem l had. I know and understand even cook's can have a bad night. I will give them another chance in the future because the rest of the food was great so l'm ok. My furbabies enjoyed the meat just took time getting it off the bone, part's was tough. Over all nice place to sit down and have Dinner with family. Very clean and alot of parking spaces. I like that alot!. I would recommend them.
