Lowdown Oven and Bar — Restaurant in South Carolina

So, after much debate, I have to give LDOB 3 stars. For the past two months, my husband and I have come every Thursday for half off Burgers. Even came on a few off special nights. Their Burgers are awesome when they are cooked right. Twice they have come under cooked. No one likes raw burger. Was I able to send it back, it was offered, however we waited on average a good half hour for the burger after ordering. Their wings are normally great too, never had a complaint untill last night. What makes their wings great is they dip the wings in the sauce prior to frying them. So the skin is flavorful. LAST NIGHT they were over cooked. Not burnt color, overcooked. The meat was crisped and brittle. So my husband sent it back. Management decided they were not overcooked and the color made us think they were burnt. So they came out 20 mins later with fried chicken. No seasoning. Nope sent them back, I order for the taste of their food. One star down for inconsistent food service.

So lets talk table service. Hands down out of 20 so visits, we have only had 3 visit where the wait staff was on their game. I understand Thursdays are a busy night, however I have watched waitstaff just hang out at the center stand, while several tables need glasses refilled. Many a time we have gone the whole meal with an empty glass. I have even gone up to the bar to get my own refill. Loss of a star because of wait staff service.

As much as I love the burgers. You need to know that the wait staff and food service are very inconsistent. Hopefully Management will take this review and use it to train...

Absolutely horrible service the food was burnt when I try to express my feelings to try to get things situated they went ahead and blocked me I would definitely not recommend them at all my nephew is now sick the food is atrocious and when I expressed it to management he asked me to never come back again very extremely rude considering I just moved from Florida two months ago I’ve been going there for the last couple of months the first couple of times the food was great and the last three times has been extremely atrocious I will not recommend this place to anyone I have tried bohemian bull As well pretty great restaurant my nephews throwing up sick I will never take family from out of town here it was absolutely embarrassing the last two times and I figured I would give it a second try Management stood in front of my family today and told me never to come back there and I’m just letting people now that it was very very poor service coming from the restaurant industry and a marketing career was a very Poor move on their part and I will let everybody know simply because this man that was a manager there totally embarrassed me in front of my whole entire family all because their chicken wings were burnt with old grease and their food and french fries were soggy. I still paid my bill I still gave a good tip but I will not recommend this place at all... My son and I wanted a "local" spot to eat the other night. We walked in to no host/waiter/ signage to tell us where to sit so we just kinda stood there for a minute. Finally someone told us to sit anywhere. There were a few people on the patio and a few people at the bar, but no one sitting inside. It took a few minutes, but someone finally came and gave us menus unhappily. Did not take a drink order at that time. They came back again a few minutes later and got our order. I personally thought the waitress was rude and didn't care if we were there or not. I used to work in many restaurants and I know they don't really "care" per say, but you should at least make the customer feel welcomed, and we did not. I honestly thought about cancelling my order and leaving. My son enjoyed his burger (Patrick T. Melterson), while I did not. I ordered the Roadhouse burger Medium-Rare, but it was way too rare. It was also supposed to have "Peach BBQ" which is why I opted for that specific burger. The sauce tasted and looked just like ketchup. My son even tried it and said it wasn't a good burger so I know it wasn't just my taste buds or attitude towards the restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. The food wasn't great, nor was the atmosphere. Maybe if you're a local, it's a good spot for you because they treat you better or maybe withe a different waitress. Unfortunately, I couldn't gage any other staff because it was pretty dead at the time we went. The check was under $40 for two people so I guess...
