The cashier yelled and scolded me today when I tried to buy some high end items that were for sale. They weren't interested in my business, so I ended up walking out. That's about $130 this cashier cost the store.
And a friend told me to check the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry. I did and it says that this store (Miracle Hill Taylors) employs a man that sexually assaulted someone, so that's one more reason I'm not interested in going back.
As for what happened today, I popped into the store on my way home from the grocery store. To my surprise, I came across a cart of shelves on wheels. I've been trying to find something like this for my office. I decided to buy them. I had picked up a few other items on my way over to the furniture section that I also wanted to purchase. I was going to get an employee to see if I could purchase the cart now and then have my husband come pick it up with our van in the next hour, but as I was checking out the cart, other customers walked by and seemed to show an interest as well. I had studied the cart for a long time trying to measure it and never saw an employee. I was concerned that if I waked away to find someone to help, the cart might be purchased by someone else before I returned. It was shorter than me, sturdy and rolled very easily, so I pushed it to the front of the store in front of the cashier (Caucasian lady with short hair maybe in her 70's or so). I put my other items in the cart and made sure it was out of the way of store traffic. I spotted a globe next to the cashier too and thought I might get that as well, but I asked the cashier first if I could do so (I politely waited until she was finished ringing up another customer. There were no other customers around). She raised her voice and LASHED out at me. She asked if I was taking the cart out the door immediately. I told her I was going to have my husband come pick it up. I asked her if I could please go ahead and pay for the cart. She said NO and ordered me to get it to the back of the store back in the furniture section. I don't understand why she was so angry. I wasn't endangering anyone, damaging property or interfering with her ringing up customers. She could have had someone either come to the front to return the cart to the furniture section or else just asked me politely to do so and I happily would have. Anyway, I began pushing the cart back to the furniture area and wondered why she had been so rude and why she couldn't just call someone to the front where I already was. I heard her call over the speaker as I was pushing the cart back for an employee to go to to the furniture section. When I got there I couldn't find an employee. I waited a bit and decided to just leave the cart where I had originally found it. I left the other items I was going to purchase there in the cart too. I had groceries in the car and couldn't run around the store begging someone to sell me the cart. I also decided that I didn't want to give my business to someone that was so disrespectful. The cart I was going to buy was $60. I was getting about $10 in other items too. There was an identical cart also for $60. I was going to buy the cart I pushed to the front and then have my husband purchase the second cart when my he arrived if it would fit in our van. But this cashier DIDN'T want my business. She made me feel like a teenager that came in the store just to goof off with friends and be a nuisance rather than a customer that was trying to politely give her money for items for sale. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlright team, huddle up and listen to your old man. Iāve been to a lot of establishments in Greenville, but I just found one that really gets my thermostat set to āthrilled.ā Iām talking about Miracle Hill. Now, hold onto your tool belts, because this isnāt just a thrift store; itās a masterclass in awesome. From the moment you walk in, you can tell theyāre operating on a higher calling. The organization here is truly a blessing. You half expect to see angels stocking the shelves. This place has more soul than a shoe store, and more spirit than my high school pep rallies! The staff and volunteers? Holy mackerel, what a crew! Theyāre the friendliest, most helpful folks youāll ever meet, working together like a well-oiled machine. Itās clear theyāre on a mission, following a Christ-like structure of service that you can feel in every aisle. They truly put the āgoodā in goodwill. Now, letās talk about the āmerchandise.ā The collection of pre-loved treasures is second-to-none. The shirt selection is tie-rrific, the furniture is sofa good, and the prices are so low, it feels like a five-finger discount, but itās 100% legit, because stealing is wrong! I found a pair of khaki shorts that were practically calling my name "DAAAAADDD" just like my two boys calling "Dad" never stops and I love it. But hereās the part that really punches the timecard on my heart. Every dollar you spend is a direct investment in kindness. This organization is a charitable powerhouse, providing a lifeline for those who are less fortunate, offering food, shelter, and a path forward from addiction and hardship. When you shop here, youāre not just getting a bargain; youāre helping rebuild a life. Youāre making change for the better, in more ways than one. My final verdict? Miracle Hill is heaven-sent. Itās an organization with a heart of gold and deals that are absolutely divine. Donāt be thrift to be square; go check it out. Itās a blessed assurance for your wallet...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring the past 2 years that we have lived in this area we have tried to support Miracle Hill. Visited several locations within the Greenville area. Some are better than others. Yesterday was my last time visting the Wade Hampton location. I was purchasing childrens clothing items. Our cashier was an older woman with multi colored hair (shades of purple, blue, and green). Part of the items I was trying to purchase were childrens socks. Loose items in the multi tiered bin in front of the childrens aisle. Sign plainly states 4 childrens accessories for $1 (mainly bibs and socks were in the bin). Most everything in the bin was severely used and should have been thrown away. I was, however, able to find 4 pairs of childrens socks that were in great shape. When I got to the register I confirmed the price with the cashier. She told me I would have to pay $0.50 per childrens socks/accessories since they were in newer condition. These socks were not new, did not have a new retail tag. The sign clearly states all children accessories 4 for $1. I confirmed the price prior to purchase because I've had this location charge me whatever price the cashier felt like in the past and I didn't realize it until I got home. Good luck getting this place to refund your money after they clearly overcharged you. I always try to utilize local thrift stores to "help their mission" and I also want to do my part in lessening our carbon footprint. I hate having to do a negative review over socks. I have had way too many issues at this location during my 2 years here. I've "overlooked" some of the items that were ridiculously over priced.(especially the over stocks from Target that have the original retail tag but Miracle Hill has the item $20+ more than the retail). My advice: If you decide to patronize this location CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AND ASK QUESTIONS WHEN SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT. They will charge what they want regardless...
