Horrible experience at the Carolina Forest location in Myrtle Beach South Carolina last night. The only thing I can't complain about were the cocktails. I was there with my 86-year-old wheelchair bound mother for our once a week venture out. This isn't my first time going there. Never have I had this problem before. We ordered the mushrooms as an appetizer. What they laid down in front of us looked like a $0.49 can you would find in the supermarket thrown into batter and then highly greased. We both ordered an 8 oz sirloin with a sweet potato. As her side she ordered a vegetable medley and I got the house salad. The salad they laid down in front of me was yellowed chunks of iceberg lettuce and not much else. I called the waiter back and asked where my salad dressing was and he said it's underneath the lettuce. Underneath? Well sure it was underneath, maybe a tablespoon full. He did bring me another container of salad dressing. When we got our main course I had asked for my potato to be butter only and my mother with everything. We both got buttered potatoes. The sirloin was mostly gristle. There is my mother pulling chunks of meat out of her mouth. She couldn't eat it. I sliced mine super thin and did. But it tasted nasty. Her vegetable medley consisted only of zucchini, strips of soggy zucchini. The waiter was a nice kid, but he was working way too many tables to give anyone any kind of personal attention. My drink ran out halfway through my meal and I didn't get a glass of water until he came with my check. As much as I feel my mom's favorite place, Applebee's, is a dump I told her I would go back to Applebee's again rather than come here. Thoroughly disillusioned with the Outback Steakhouse chain. It was $65 for nothing. Why didn't I complain you will ask? Again, I was there with my 65-year-old mother and if I had it would have upset her. She's fragile. Oh, and where they set us was in a narrow highly traveled area and people were constantly bumping into her wheelchair as they came through. Evidently the Outback steakhouse isn't...
Read moreAte here yesterday for my anniversary and our service and food was subpar. My husband and I and our 1 yr old were sat promptly and our waitress Ashley was right over. She asked for our drink orders, asked if we wanted an appetizer and if we knew what we wanted to eat. We hadn’t even got the baby in the high chair yet. We asked for a minute on the food order but put in for cheese fries and waters. Ashley replied “ okay, I’ll get your drinks but you will have to flag me down when you are ready to order”. Our appetizer and waters came out in a decent time however they were delivered by another staff member so we couldn’t place our food order. We ate our appetizer and waited to place our order or atleast see Ashley to flag her down. We were about to leave without ordering entrees because our toddler was over it. I stood up to go to the hostess stand when I finally spotted our waitress and flagged her over. We decided to stay and order and our waitress Ashley took our order while leaning on the back of my booth. My husband asked for his chicken to be extra crispy and we ordered our daughter’s steak well done. Our food and sides came out again by another staff member. My daughters steak was undercooked and my husbands chicken was pinkish and my baked potato soup had 3 massive hunks of potato, smelled like a tin can and was cold. We never saw our waitress again and never received refills until my husband once again flagged her down (chatting at the hostess station) and asked for another water and the check. Not once did she ask about the food. About 10 mins goes by and she finally comes back with just the water and says “sorry, I took the long way”. We again asked for the check and she said okay. Ashley brings us our check says nothing and walks away. My husband opens our ticket to find it belongs to another table. We asked the tables near us and were able to locate our ticket. We paid, asked for a small Togo box and left. I understand being understaffed but this seemed more like laziness then a...
Read moreLong one - So, we’re regulars. Once a week. In the past we have never had even a glimmer of bad service until today. We were seated immediately, waited 11 minutes before I got up and asked the bar tender Chris N. Hey who’s our server. He went to the hostess stand then to the back. He then came and asked us what we would like to drink. Our server was tied up and he guessed there was a miscommunication on seating. Ok we understand -We got our drinks and he even asked us what we would like to eat? Again not our server. I watched our server help another family, who came in after us, who yea was extremely needy but then took 7 mins to laugh, talk, etc… w the hostess. We then waited 45 minutes for our food. In that time our original server came over with another drink. Not hey we’re backed up nothing. Just dropped on the table and walked away. We had no plans for the night we didn’t care we had to wait a little but we were starting to get hungry. I then noticed Chris look over. He was shocked our food wasn’t there. He went to the kitchen then he went to the manager. He came to us and informed us this situation would be handled. The manager came over and explained computer issues happened. I informed her that’s fine but why is the bar tender going over and beyond when the server hasn’t done a damn thing. He was slammmmmed but made us feel like we were his only customer. I even pointed out the server goofing off at the hostess stand again. When mg noticed the server came 6 times in 15 mins. Not once did she care prior. We just got out dinner manager did make it right compt meal (not what we wanted but appreciated) so I felt it was only necessary to tip Chris N. He was very kind l, fast, and attentive. He is a asset to the Outback family. So for the server she gets one star for Chris he would get 10 all day long. Meal would...
