Discriminatory or just plain out STUPID? I do not know the answer to that. I recently placed an order from Silverbay in Simpsonville via the Take Out window. I ordered the food ahead of time because I was on my lunch break and wanted the food to be ready so that I would not have to waste part of break waiting for the food to be prepared. When I arrived and paid for my food I advised the cashier that I was going to go over to the other side to eat it while I was on my lunch break. I was told to go ahead and help myself. When I got to the other side the hostess even told me to go ahead and find any table that I wanted, as I mentioned to her as well that I had just purchased my food from the other side and just wanted to sit and eat . I then asked for a plate and some water. After several minutes I noticed that my requests seemed to go ignored and I noticed that every time I saw a waitress they would just look at me. A couple a minutes later I was approached by a waitress and she told that the manager said I had to leave and could not eat my food THAT I JUST PURCHASED FROM THEM, in the restaurant. I was shocked. It did not make sense to me given the fact that TWO employees nicely told to go ahead and sit down. I proceeded to tell the waitress she could go back and tell her manager that it was a stupid request to ask me to leave. Another minute later another waitress comes over and says the same thing. I was then told that because the food prices are different I could not eat on the inside....then I was told it was because tips are divided between the waitress and bus boy. I proceeded to tell the waitress again that it was a stupid request and to assume I was not tipping was a little judgmental in my opinion. Let me just note that they would have received a tip because I ate in the restaurant and they barely would have had to do any work to earn the tip. Nevertheless, I kept my composure and packed up my food proceeded back over to take out to ask for a refund. The manager comes out and was like No Refund..He could not give me a good explanation why. I proceeded to tell him that if $9.17 was worth losing future business then fine, but nevertheless to not let a paying customer eat in your restaurant is ridiculous. We argued for a few minutes and he ended up giving me an unwanted gift card and refused to give me a number to someone higher up then him. I will NEVER BE BACK and I am telling everyone I know not to visit as well. I have not been subjected to such stupidity in a long time. Thanks...
Read moreI came to your drive-thru on September 1st at 3:18 p.m. Drive thru check # 134 and had the unpleasant opportunity to be serviced by Ashley H. She cut me off in the middle of my order because I was asking if something could be replaced and was very short. I get that it was a very busy line. Once I got to the window she handed me my drink and had tea spilling over the outside of the cup. I asked her if she could get a napkin so that we could clean that up and with a very negative facial expression and attitude grabbed a napkin and just shoved it to me with the Tea still spilling over the cup. I asked her for her name and she said it's Ashley in a very rude tone and she said my name is on the receipt very condescendingly. I called back to the restaurant and Ashley answered the phone and she immediately placed me on hold. when she came back to the line I asked if a manager was available she said that a manager was not that a manager was servicing the truck. I did not see a truck in the parking lot. She said that she would take my name and number because she was sure that I was the person that just came through her line. I asked her why she would assume that and she said because I recognize your voice. I said I'm willing to hold for a manager and she said ma'am that's not how we do things in a very nasty voice. I advised her that I didn't think it was right for her to assume that I was someone that she had previously dealt with and to deny me to speak with the manager. I told her I'll call back and she said well I'll just be the same one that answers the phone. I told her that she is very rude and providing a poor customer experience and she said ma'am is there anything else I can do for you and she hung up on me.
I dine in your restaurant often as well as I conduct business meetings at your restaurant. This was the worse experience by far. Ashley has an opportunity with soft skills. She is very unpleasant for someone working the drive through. I don't feel like she would have given a manager my information for a call back so i hope that the owner or management will contact me back as I submitted written feedback. Hopefully Ashley isn't the one handling written...
Read moreI have a love-hate relationship with this place. We've dined here for lunch and dinner many times; probably 50 to 75 times over a 10 year period. It is clean and pleasant and not too noisy even when packed. It is a popular place and usually busy. If you have too wait for a table or booth seldom is the wait more than a very few minutes. Some of my family members love it. My youngest daughter, 39 years old, doesn't care for it. Service is prompt though the young women who run the checkout should try to be a little warmer, often coming across as not friendly. We seldom, if ever, have had an issue with the order being incorrect. When I want fried shrimp, scallops, and clam strips this is where I want to go. The shrimp are good size and the scallops are ok size. Not greasy. The batter is light and crispy and seasoned. It is good. I enjoy french fries but they are always only medium warm. Even when I ask them to make sure the fries are hot they are only medium warm. The entries are always hot however and of a generous portion size. The cole slaw is too small for me. Side salads are simple iceberg lettuce, usually too wet, and little else. On the "I love it" side are the hush puppies brought to the table as soon as we are seated. They are warm, sweet, crusty. On the "hate it" side is the seafood chowder, which watery and tasteless. The clam chowder which I've had twice is ok. My father-in-law nearly always has the broiled sea-food platter and has never failed to enjoyed it. The two times he has not had the sea-food platter was once on a father's day when one of the special offers for the occasion was steak and lobster. Both he and I had it. The steak was tough and the lobster over cooked. He had lobster once before and it was ok. I've had steak here one additional time and found it tough then also. My wife who is now vegan, mostly, still enjoys fish and sea food occasionally. On many occasions has enjoyed the broiled salmon, occasionally the flounder, and like me she liked their fried shrimp. My wife and father-in-law would probably give this place a 5 Star rating. Only 3 Stars is what Silver...
