This was a recommendation from our hotel and we were very excited about eating there. I love the decor but there were many problems with our experience. This is not the cleanest food establishment I've ever been in. When we we seated, it took a while to even have someone come to our table, which was in the corner on the upper level. The server was very preoccupied and not really with us. We ordered and it took forever.....finally they came back to tell us they had a big party that had tied up the kitchen and the food would get there soon. As a professional chef, this line of excuses always makes me mad as all the blame is put on the kitchen staffs backs. Many times the real reason is the error of the servers to put the order in a timely manner or because of a mistake they made in placing the order and the order had to be remade. But, back to this story, our food finally came and it was awful! I only ordered beans and rice, both were not even warm. This restaurant doesn't give you chips and salsa but if you want it you are charged for them. I would have expected warm/hot chips (they were not) and especially because we waited so long for our meals, maybe a refill on the appetizer would have been a nice gesture. No such luck! Also, the portion size for each dish was tiny but the prices were overpriced for the value. Very disappointing experience. To top it off, when we tried to pay so we could get out of there, the server stated the wifi was acting up so it took even more time for them to figure out how to make the machines work so we could pay. The saddest part is we were still hungry with the appetizer portions we received so we ate at another restaurant later...
Read moreLet me say this is my first time ever here. I am in the culinary field and I like my food.. So this may be the type of food and atmosphere that is expected. The waiter that we had was great. So as far as the service it was good. I will say the atmosphere stunk. Loud. The picnic style tables are a bust. If you are wearing a dress plan on sitting on the end or make everyone get up to let you out. The tables were soooooooo skinny you couldn't put a food tray in front of you with someone else in front of you. Which brings me to my next point....the food was so under sized for the price. It felt like an over priced taco bell with no seating. They do put your food on large metal trays that make it seem that you are getting a lot of food but you hit your neighbors and I think it is just a mind game with the tremendously undersized tables. Lol. Food was cold. Not cold but cold. Chicken quesadilla had two pieces of chicken. Literally. The tacos were seriously undersized and bland. The sauces were bland. I don't think the kitchen owns salt, pepper or any other spices except for what is on the table which takes up half of one side. Lol. Kids had more fun watching a snail crawl outside than eating their food. Personally this was a waste of time and money. If offered a gift card I would give it to an enemy as a Christmas gift gag. They will not have my repeat business. As it wasn't just one thing. It was the entire experience minus the waiter. I know some places have a bad night. But trust me if it wasn't for the waiter they would...
Read moreI had heard a lot of good things about this place, so I was excited to finally try it yesterday. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My husband called in our to-go order as I was driving us there. My first clue should have been when the order taker asked how I wanted my chicken cooked. I just chalked that up to her probably being auto-pilot, but I should have taken it as a hint to run.
We ordered 2 kids meals of cheese quesadillas, and that was the most over-priced kids meal I’ve ever seen. $5 for a puny tortilla with a smidge of cheese. No sides, and my kids (5 and 2 years old) were still hungry after eating them. My husband had a taco plate, and he said it was very underwhelming. I had the Taco Boy Salad. The flavors were good, but it was missing two ingredients listed on the menu: avocado and queso. Also, I paid the extra $5 to add chicken, and while the chicken itself was good, it was not $5 worth. Very small portion of protein.
Finally, the wait time. On the phone, my husband was quoted 15 minutes. This was right at 5:00pm on a Monday, so I doubt they were super busy yet. Parking lot wasn’t super crowded. It was actually 28 minutes. I can forgive a long wait, as I know the restaurant industry is having trouble with staffing these days, but just give us an accurate...
