DISGRACEFUL...We recently visited this place to listen to an awesome band Center Lane. Our group of 6 got there around 6:30pm to get some dinner before the band started. We were sitting by a group that were having a b-day party so we ordered some drinks and moved to the patio. We were all just hanging out waiting on our food to come out and socializing with some friends we seen come in. When the band started to play a gentleman in our group opened the door so we could hear the band and a guy came and grabbed it and tried shutting. He was asked if he worked there with no response, he then took the cynder block that they were using to hold the door open and threw it over the porch, a gentleman who worked there went and got the block and put it back on the door. The guy came back and tried to shut it again this time he took his hands and slung the gentleman's arms off the door, he he was asked if he worked there still no response, his wife then came and put her hands on the gentleman as well. The staff and manager did nothing else to resolve the issue so we he to call RCSD. When the cops arrived they continually asked the gentleman in our group if he was sure he wanted to press charges against the guy. The gentleman said if they aren't going to make him leave because he was continuing to antagonize the situation and get more people involved then yes he wanted to press charges. The officer's didn't like that and one of them got pretty upset and was clearly angry as he officer D. Campbell started shouting and being very rude to our group. After some time we were all in the parking lot getting everything with the officer's and paper work done several of the staff and the manager came out not real sure why but only made the situation worse. We have gone to the bar occasionally for over 20 year's so obviously it's not if your a local or not because we are locals, it's who you know or who's around when you are acting like an a.., and if you can't take the disrespectful behavior of there (locals) then your not welcome to stay. After this incident we will not ever be going back it was the worst display of professionalism by an owner and the staff taking up for someone showing such disrespect to its guests I have ever...
Read moreWithout exaggeration, this was the worst food I've ever eaten from a restaurant. I should have known when I walked in and it took someone almost 10 minutes to acknowledge our existence that we should have dined elsewhere.
We started off with an appetizer order of fried pickles and after a relatively long wait, they were literally inedible. They tasted as if they were fried in salt and baking soda. I've never put anything so awful in my mouth. We sent back the pickles when our food came.
My wife and I decided to split some wings, 2 hot dogs, and Mac and cheese. I don't think I could make a more bland Mac and cheese if I tried. Kraft Mac and cheese is 10x better than what we were served. The "smoked BBQ pork" on top of my hot dog tasted like old packaged pulled pork doused in liquid smoke. The acidity of the meat was disgusting, (although it finally got the taste of salt out of my mouth from the pickles) and it ruined the entire hot dog. My wife's palmetto dog wasn't quite as bad but still very salty and underwhelming. The wings were a little overcooked and the wing flavors were salty without any heat or real flavor.
When we brought up our concerns to our waitress, she had a bit of an attitude telling us that the BBQ pork is supposed to be "smoked" and reluctantly she went, I'm assuming, to talk to her manager. When she came back, she told us that since we ate some of our hot dogs and wings that she would take 30% off our bill. The manager never came over and we begrudgingly paid the bill just to leave this terrible establishment.
This is no exaggeration. I'm very upset I had to pay anything for this meal. I would have rather starved tonight. I will NEVER be returning to...
Read moreAfter a long day out with family from Florida, we finally got a chance to get some dinner, and since most places were closing, we chose The Polliwogs. We walked in just after 9pm and the music was blaring. We figured we would get a table behind the speakers, but it was still quite loud and this was when we realized this was mostly a bar. The server was quick to wait on us and was so nice, so we decided to stay. The music was quite vulgar and when my husband asked our server if she could turn the music down some, she paused and when she heard the lyrics she gasped and exclaimed, “Oh no!” Not long after that the music stopped and we heard pop music playing in the background (“underneath the loud music “) no where near as loud. Not long after that our food arrived, and it was simply yummy! My daughter absolutely loved her shrimp scampi and my salmon and avocado sandwich was spot on! My in-laws sweet potato fries seemed burnt and the server apologized and put another order in for more and a man came from the kitchen with perfectly cooked fries apologizing for the first order. Excellent quality of food and it’s apparent a lot of thought and care goes into the food. Our server was wonderfully gracious and on top of her game. We will be back again (most likely during lunch hours). Thank you for being...
