I visit COOK OUT located at 10030 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29223, about once every two months when I'm in the mood for something quick. I usually order the BBQ Sandwich with slaw and Texas Pete and two side dishes—two corndogs and a sweet tea. As always, the BBQ Sandwich was great, but unfortunately, my two corndogs were a bit of a letdown. They seemed to have been sitting for a while, and one side was a little hard. While this wasn't a major issue, what happened next was. After leaving the location, I checked my bag and was surprised to find an extra order inside. There was a dry double burger with bacon stuck in the cheese as if it had been sitting there for some time, as well as mayo and onions. However, what caught my attention was something called a "Walkin Taco" also on the order. Which had meat, lettuce, and Doritos crushed in the Doritos bag. This order was clearly not mine—probably from the car behind me—but the drive-thru team wasn't paying attention, and they put both orders in the bag. Additionally, I had to honk my horn to get my sweet tea, which was a bit frustrating. No greeting, no apology, or even a simple "Have a great day"—just handed over the drink and closed the window. Although this was an unusual experience, I wanted to know if anyone else has ordered a "Walkin Taco." Is this a secret menu item? I've never seen or heard of it before. Overall, I still love the BBQ Sandwich, but the corndogs can be hit or miss. Just be sure to check your order before you leave!

Super fast service. Everything always taste great. A good treat once a month or so. First paragraph is from from 4 years ago. Cookout is still dishing out delicious food quickly. I am a South Carolina man through and through, and I love my slow pit cooked barbecue. And fast food barbecue usually turns me off. But the barbecue sandwich with coleslaw and Texas Pete at cookout delights me every time. Update: ordered a barbecue sandwich tray today and I got three very small cheese bites as one of my sides. I have uploaded the picture. Don't know what their rules are on cheese bites as a side, but I've gotten many more in the past.

I guess I forgot about my original review because I gave them another try. The hush puppies were burnt and the hot dog chili was as well. It looked like dog food. In addition, the service was horrible. It's clear that the employees do not want to be there. I am truly done this time. I keep trying to give fast food restaurants a chance and they continue to disappoint. My fries and hush puppies were burnt along with the chili on my hot dog. This was a waste of $20. In the future I would only go to Cookout for shakes.

NO STAR CAUSE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! After being rushed in the drive thru and confused making my order because of the attitude I received. I got to the window and wanted to add a 5 piece nugget to my meal at the window. She quickly said they can't add at the window, and CLOSED the window in my face. So I pulled around to the walk up window, place order for my for the nuggets. Price was 2.19, I gave her $3, change is .81. They didn't have change so I said well just let me get a couple extra nuggets and we cool. SHE SAID OK! I get my bag and notice it's only 5 nuggets. Went back the window and was like hey if I can't get a few nuggets let me have my change, she gets the "supposed to be supervisor" and she also says they don't have any change, I said we'll let me get a few extra nuggets, she say they can't do that, close the window in my face and walked off. 🤬😡😡 This is the point I almost loss my cool and freedom. She came back to the window and I said well give me a refund. She refunds me to 2.19....the 2.19...the 2.19. I said noooo I gave u $3. If u voided my transaction, ur drawer shouldn't be short, just give me the 3 dollars back. She refused to give me my change. I said yall should've just requested I used my card if yall didn't have change. She closed the window and walk off on me again. At this point I walk back to the locked door, a lady seen me pointed to the window gave me my dollar. IT wasn't about the money, it was the principal. A customer in line said "its always like this with them", every customer understood my point, said I wasn't wrong or crazy. These young folks working are disrespectful and unprofessional. The fries were old grease tasting, my hotdogs had Chilli that I didn't ask for. This was a...

I had to come back & update my review. My review previously read fast & friendly. They are fast & friendly at times however, I've had two bad experiences w/ them in this week alone. Experience #1: For the first time ever I ordered the Walking Taco. I didn't realize the item actually came in the dorito bag. When I ask the ladies at the drive-thru where the Walking Taco was, they kept saying it's in the bag. Mind you I ordered other items as well. In the process of this, faces were being made, their tone was horrible, & they weren't friendly. Finally I said oh, the item is in the dorito bag. Response: YES, as eyes are being rolled & the drive-thru door is slammed. Despite the bad experience ; the Walking Taco was good. Experience #2: I decided to order the Walking Taco today along w/ a cheeseburger tray. I open the Walking Taco bag & there's no sour cream. It's a bag w/ doritos, light lettuce, light cheese, & jalapenos. No big deal I said to myself .I have other food. I began to eat my cheeseburger taking a bite.I look down & it's raw meat. I think okay, maybe it's just the top half of the burger. No, it's the entire Burger (raw). I paid $14.99 to eat a quesadilla & six hush puppies.I would like to point out, each time I went they were not busy.I can understand if there's a lunch rush or dinner rush. Each time there was only one car in front of me & maybe two behind me. I called the number provided on google. I spoke w/ two very nice CS reps. The first time I declined vouchers, today I decided to get vouchers. Although that doesn't resolve my matter right now, which is I'm...

FOOD POISONING!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!! I went to this location yesterday as I've done plenty times before. I was expecting to get great service and food but instead all I received was rushed food that may not have been fully cooked ( I ordered a Cookout Tray with a Double Burger) anyways, I took 2 bites of the burger and within three minutes I was sick to my stomach! The next three hours consisted of me going back and forth to the bathroom in complete pain and nausea! I even broke out into a cold sweat! I know it was food poisoning from this location because that had been the only meal I ate that day. My boyfriend who ordered food was sick immediately as well.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: I went to return the food with the receipt the following day only to have the female manager tell me I needed a doctors note proving I got food poisoning from them to get my money back! Why would I go to the doctor for a 3 hour stomach bug and rack up a doctors bill just so the doctor can tell me what's already obvious?? She proceeded to tell me when her daughter had food poisoning she was sent to the doctor. All I could do was stare in disbelief ! She then proceeds to go to the back of the kitchen yelling and ranting so loud! Next, the male manager comes out in a more toned demeanor and he starts to issue my refund to me, and he proceeds to ask me if I would like a partial or full refund. I MEAN ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I didn't make a partial payment the day before when I purchased his trash food!! Long story short, I got my FULL refund and will NOT...
