I took my dad here for dinner because he loves cheese steaks. Saw the good reviews so we gave it a shot. First, we came in and waited, as there was no one to seat us and no sign saying please seat yourself. Finally asked the cashier and were told we could find our own seat. Picked a spot, and shortly a lady came by with silverware and menus, said someone would be right with us. Waited long enough to decide what we wanted before the waitress went by, saying she would be right with us. Finally she came back and took our orders and drink orders, did it by memory. Time to sitting down to drinks, about 8min. Drinks ran dry about 10min later, got refills 10min after that. Food finally came 32min after we sat down. They had lots of to go orders but only about 4 tables full of dineins. My dad asked for the hogie version which it was not. We didn't send it back because it took so long the first time. The food was very good, we both highly enjoyed our cheese steaks. We waited awhile after finishing but she didn't come by so we went up to the counter to pay as we didn't want to wait so long for the check to come to the table. It might have just been a fluke but we were so turned off by the lack of service I doubt we will give it a...
Read moreBased off the reviews, I was looking forward to eating here. The place is somewhat dated but the staff was extremely friendly and polite. Unfortunately once my family orders arrived, it went downhill. I ordered the cheesesteak hoagie which was fine. My wife ordered the regular cheesesteak sub will grilled onions and could not eat it. The cheesesteak had peppers included which we didn't order and the sandwich had a burnt taste. We noticed the steak and the onions were in fact burnt and it appeared that the sandwich included char from previous cooked food that may have been on the griddle. The fries were a little too spicy from uneven seasoning on the fries and kinda tasted like the checkers fries you buy in a bag a Walmart. My grandson's had the personal pizza but only ate one slice. The meat pizza taste good but the dough/crust was not fresh made which took away from the taste tremendously. The high point of our visit was our server who addressed our concerns to management and help resolve the charges for the problematic food. Our visit was a disappointment being that the place wasn't crowded or appeared overwhelmed. We really wanted to like this place but it...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town for several days for work, and that meant reading a lot of local reviews, and eating out. We had yet to find a restaurant that we all liked. This was our last day here and my wife found this place and we gave it at try. We all loved our food! My wife's philly was exceptional! My wings were very good, my son had the pepperoni lovers pizza and it was one of the best, my other son had the Bacon Cheeseburger and he raved about it, and my daughter had the kids cheese pizza and it was loaded like a cheese lovers pizza, it was not cheap or skimpy like many kids meal pizzas! Our waitress (forgot her name) middle aged African American woman, was amazing, very quick, prompt, friendly and extremely accommodating to all of us! Even at the end my wife had wished she had got a tea to go, but she forgot to ask, as we were leaving our sweet waitress chased her down to ask us if we wanted to go drinks! It was as if she knew! ;) We're from Jacksonville Beach, Florida and if we have to return here for work, we will most definitely be back here! Thank you for amazing food and service! Cute, quaint, old Philly style...
