Grab a beer and a seat this is strange and true tale. I just dropped off a guy from Charlotte airport to his beautiful home in Lake Carolina, and since it was like 22:00 and hungry I thought hey there is a Mcdonalds around here. So I drove down and turned at the Mcdonalds and that is when I saw the Wendy's sign all lite up saying we got better burgers here, not so great fries, but far better burgers. So I pulled up through the drive through. My turn came, but the person in the black DodgeJourney ahead of me would not pull up and tighten the.line so I could order. I beeped mu horn twice and she moved up. But no one came to take.my order. Now I am a patient guy so I waited. The line behind me wrapped around the store......still nothing. So I said "hello" and a voice came back "go ahead with your order" . non chalant. No problem here.5 minutes have gone by. "Go ahead with your order" he said. Ok here we go "Dave's Double burger only no cheese. And a large Coke". I prefer Pepsi, and Wendy's along time ago served Pepsi products....but I digress. The voice came back and asked " Would you like to make that a large combo"?. My reply was swift. "No fries, just the burger with no cheese and a large Coke." The voice had an issue with this order. " So you don't want the fries"? My retort was swift. " No Fries!, just the Dave"s Double with no cheese and a large coke." The voice said something under his breath and was replaced by a wonderful voice although still male. This voice was confident, knowledgeable, pleasant and still, in the back of the voice your could hear concern. A wonderful quality. "May I help you? " What exquisite words. "Yes, may I have a Dave's Double, burger only and no cheese, and a large Coke". The bluish screen in front of me now had the combo I did not order and the Double burger and Coke I did order. " Ok we'll take off this and make it this and a large Coke". And the screen came to life with the blinding light of cancellation. Seconds passed by and the screen bore my order, my simple meat, bread, various vegetables and condiments order with a large soda. AWESOME."Go ahead and pull up, we will see you at window 2." The man behind the microphone was obviously Patrick Steward's brother. "That will be $8.01" "Thank you" I replied. And I pulled up. The Dodge Journey was still ahead of me. Waiting......waiting.....waiting. Ah the Journey received her Frosty, you can tell because the cup was handed to the non considerate driver on a 90% angle. And the following food containment bag followed. My turn, oh boy MY TURN. I had my 10 dollar bill and single penny in my hand. When I arrived at the window this Afican American dude took my money and handed me my food bag. He face held so much anger and rage. He did not utter a sound. Not a peep left his pie hole. He was so mad. He handed me the change with one hand and the large Coke with straw in the other. " I do not need the straw". I just heard on NPR that these straws are just filling up landfills. I do not need a straw, neither does the world. He just stood there blankly, not knowingly."No Straw Please" a second request. Still no sound intelligence but the stare of utter haterid.I handed him the straw and stated " Wow three times now NO STRAW". He took back the straw with no sound. Stay away from this Wendys, especially the drive through at night. And good luck with what is in the food or drink. I threw mine out and went to Sonic down the...

The line was long but I knew I was exhausted from work so i waited in line. There was probably about 5 or so cars ahead of me when I got there. A car pulled up behind me someone got out and checked the door, it was locked, they proceeded to laugh and got back in the car. And we all waited in line. Slowly the line dwindled. The car in front of me pulled up to the speaker to place there order, and not 30 seconds after she pulled up the car behind me sped up and around me and her and pulled up right to the window. The look of utter disbelief crossed this womans face. Once I ordered and came to the window I let the guy who rang me up know what had happened and that if I wasnt behind the woman I'd have paid for her meal because the car behind me who jumped in front of us was completely rude. His excuse for this car.... it was an employee who left something at work.
I dont know about you Wendy's but this is uncalled for. If you let your own employees cut your customers or have a lack of respect towards your customers who are patiently waiting you will lose customers and the chain can untimetely lose business.
In my company if we leave something at work and the doors are locked we call the store and explain the situation and see if someone can meet us at the door with said item.
I have never felt so utterly disappointed by this chain till now. If you cannot hire people who are responsible and ready to build your business then you need to start from scratch and have your employees know that the customer comes first.
Unfortunately we do live in a society where teens and young adults only think of themselves thus what happened tonight. And while I do not know if they placed an order or were actually an employee who left something, this behavior should not be condoned and should be corrected if it was...
Read moreIf you want to wait an HOUR in the drive thru then this is the restaurant for you. The staff is rude, the food is almost always wrong, and you have to carve out at least 30 minutes to wait in the drive thru line. Even if they only have 2 people working there’s no reason why anybody should be waiting for an hour for cold nuggets and fries. There needs to be a complete overall of the staff and management. Whoever runs this establishment should be ASHAMED of themselves. I honestly would rate -2 stars if I could!
UPDATE: Went back to this same location after not eating there for months. I waited in the drive thru line for twenty minutes before I decided to inside because nobody was taking orders. I walk in and there’s at least 3 staff members (2 of them had headsets on) standing around talking. When the young man approached me (he was the only positive thing about the whole experience) he let me know that their dining room was closed. I asked was someone gonna start taking orders at the drive thru because it’s been twenty minutes and the line was wrapped around the building. I’m assuming he went to go ask his manager if he could take my order inside but she said “tell her our dining room is closed.” I decided to leave and go to the other Wendy’s off of farrow road. The clemson rd location is by far the worst location in Columbia. There is no reason why anybody should be waiting twenty minutes just for their order to be taken when there are at least two people on the headsets. They need to just close this location because they don’t do their jobs and act like you’re in the wrong for wanting them to take some...
