Auggie's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Gate

Augies Bar & Grill has been one of my favorite spots to watch sports while drinking a beer and grabbing a bite from Mariscos Los Laras (IG MariscosLosLaras). This restaurant is located inside Augies Bar & Grill, and their menu consists of mariscos and Mexican food, although they offer wings and fries.

Today, I came with a friend to witness the Dodgers win and see Shohei Ohtani hit his 51st home run and steal his 51st base. The ambiance was calm for this Thursday afternoon, but the music Playlist was on point. The bartenders were beautiful as always and attentive to our needs. After a couple of cold Pacifico beers, my friend and I got hungry and decided to order some aguachiles verdes and two tacos governador. Our order took a little longer than expected (Approximately 20 minutes), but we understood because the owner had barely opened his restaurant when we ordered.

The aguachiles came first because they were not hard to prepare and looked delicious. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my plate midway through. The plate had a good amount of shrimp marinated in spicy lime sauce, slices of avocado, red onions, cucumber, and about 3 to 4 tostadas served inside a plastic bag. Overall, this plate is perfect to satisfy your appetite temporarily.

About 10 minutes later, the tacos governador plate came out with a slice of lime and a sauce that is hard to describe, but it was really good. The taco was cheesy and had plenty of shrimp for the traditional tortilla. The type of salsa they serve it with complements the governador and is delicious.

In conclusion, I will continue to come here because of their sports ambiance, cold beers, beautiful bartenders providing excellent customer service, and Mariscos Los Laras serving...

Visited Recently and three years later, things have actually went futher downhill. They do not have the pool table anymore. Management should maybe not allow two pregnant bartenders work the same shift. Especially when theres so many customers waiting for beer. I dont think its fair to allow employees to bring in outside food and with their friends in the regular tables. Most disturbing is they welcome a biker gang to display their patches and affiliation to their club. Just like street gangs. Will not ever return. Becareful if you decide to come to...

Usually go but this time i got horrible service I brought a friend who never had been there and we were waiting for 10 min for a drink nobody came to the table so we walked up to bar area and were told to wait because she was busy. Every body else had drinks we waited a additional 10 min at bar with no exaggeration while she flirted with regulars and helped everyone else the food was great and the sevice for it was amazing im going to think twice now before going to watch any games there again.
