Taqueria La Favorita — Restaurant in South Houston

First of all let me start out by thanking everyone that keeps looking at my photos and reviews on certain restaurants. I always try to get pictures of the menu but many places don’t allow pictures to be taken of their own menu due to their own privacy and I can respect that.

Now let’s start out with the location of this establishment is in a high traffic area, parking is limited in the front but they have extra parking in the back. First the chips and salsa are delicious very addicting like any other Mexican place that serves chips and salsa as complementary but these chips definitely separate themselves from the competition out there because the crunch behind every chip along with 3 different types of salsa depending how hot you want to go is so satisfying one forgets that you are waiting on the entree. In the picture provided we order the tacos favorita grande and it consists of 15 mini street tacos and 3 charro beans it also comes with grilled onions, fine chopped cilantro, and limes. This particular entree can definitely be shared between 2 people and you won’t leave like you are still hungry. The environment is very laid back and the freshwater (agua frescas) are definitely made homemade as are the chips which I forgot to mention above sorry still in a food coma due to great food overall. The music is always playing but not loud where you can’t hold a conversation with your own party at the table like other authentic Mexican restaurants sometimes do.

I give this place a perfect 5 out of 5 because service was great, food quality was great and if those two factors can’t go hand in hand well the scale of rating changes quite rapidly. Like my other reviews don’t just take my words for it go out and try it I can assure you won’t be disappointed with this place the menu is huge and anyone is bound to find something on the menu they will like and...

Came again today give it a Try Nov 21,2023 still the same they litterly charge extra for every single little thing extra chip charge opinion for tacos charge little more cilantro charge ya I'm never coming g back to this place 6 dollars for a lemonaid that wasn't even good the chips were tasted like they were made buy a rotten tortilla idk but we not returning

Came in today to see if they improved waist of time and money look at my quesadilla suppose to have meat beans and cheese this looks like cheese mainly and meat with nerves gross ugh sorry last time ever coming

Update on June 14 2021 Service still sucks like bad I don't even understand why they have waiters and they never even come to your table to check on only when you about to leave they come like ugh of course I don't need anything really went down hill thi place use to be good now i just don't come or won't recommend

They took some thing off the menu that were the only reason I went there they don't always have menudo on weekends and another thing I only go for there been 3 time were I had to walk out they don't have menudo on onSunday all the time the quesadillas are soaking in grease and it's like u paying for letters and cheese and nerves because it hardley has meat They used to be good when they were at the old location now they at this bigger location they sux and the customer is not always right here they don't care to please u at all the water taste discusting like from sewer nasty they don't even clean after u leave just pick up and that it we stop going and they prices are super high I understand if the service and food was delicious but it's not and I honestly think alot of these so called 5 star reviews are fake,family or bought because if you go there alot you would see...

NEVER COMING BACK! We have been coming to this place for about 2 1/2 years. We love having parties here especially on Saturdays since they have karaoke. We always have great if not excellent service. Wait time is not too bad considering how packed it is on Saturdays. This year we decided to celebrate a birthday again and well I'm sad to say I was disappointed. We had a party of 17....a few less than last year. Our waitress started off good but once we got our food she NEVER came back but once. We were there for two hours and one of our guest was getting impatient because he hadn't gotten a refill. I eventually got up and politely asked for more coffee. After a few minutes I just asked a waitress if there was anybody we could talk to about reducing the tip since it's automatically applied after so many adults. It was not fair to pay for a half done job. I was always respectful saying please and thank you because I know what it is to work in the food industry. Then came the manager. After I told her the issue I asked for another waitress because the guest ended up leaving upset and took his family with him. She said she would personally help us but was just aggressive asking what do you want do you need anything repeatedly. She was obviously mad so we refused. Then she came back saying someone heard us saying a bad word to the waitress. Even though we did not. It was an overall bad experience and WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND...
