Ding Tea South Jordan — Restaurant in South Jordan

When we lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, we sample at least two dozen boba tea places before settling on one with the right combination of tea flavor, milk-tea balance, and especially the boba. Too much milk and you can’t taste the tea, too little and it’s, well, not milk tea. The boba must be a little sweet and chewy, but not mushy. We found a favorite, but then we moved to Utah. After trying a few boba shops in Salt Lake County, including a couple in Chinatown, Ding Tea was at the top of the list, and it fully matches our California favorite, which was a Happy Lemon shop. We found that not all Happy Lemons were as good, and the same is true for Ding Teas. We haven’t discovered any Ding Teas better than the South Jordan location. One thing I like is that you can substitute oolong tea for black tea in any of the drinks, and you can really taste the oolong.

My favorite boba place for sure! My go-to-drink is oolong milk tea. I’ve tried other places but Ding Tea has the best oolong milk tea and the boba texture is always spot on, except for one other time. I’d give it a 5 star but the recent worker (short, older lady, late 40s or early 50s) seems pretty rude. She’d smile at the customers and continue her stare/smile towards the customers while talking to her co-worker (who’s taking the order) in Vietnamese at the same time. Very cute new decor but not sure what happened today that I got the wrong order. First I got a regular latte instead of slush but you know what!? I love boba enough that I can have it in any form. Then as we are driving away in our car, my friend takes a sip of her brown sugar and was like hey I think this is Taro! Sure enough it was Taro😅🤣 Again, we love boba enough that we were like it's okay lets go home!
