food is good but the service has a lot of questions that need to be perfect... Here are some of the issues: 1. charges are not clear. It seems it's the only restaurant near URI that doesn't provide a detailed receipt, it only has the total amount on the receipt. For example, the ayo chicken is 8.99 or 9.99, and the printed menu shows a chicken&waffle combo starting from 14.99, but it doesn't state the price of the choices. My friend just wants this two, but the lady keeps asking if he wants any sauce. She gave us 3 choices and we choose 1 maple sauce, then she ask if we want any side, fries, or hashbrowns. so we choose hashbrowns. So the total including tax is 28+. We have no idea if there is a mistaken charge or which item suppose to pay by how much. For my order, it's strawberry shortcake+ half pound chicken wing+ayo burger+tax=29+. On the menu, there is no price for strawberry waffles. 2. It seems the chef won't pay any attention to your request. So pay attention if you have any food allergies. Luckily, we don't. She asked my friend whether he wanted to choose wings or tender. My friend chooses tender. Then she asked if he wanted pickles in the ayo burger. And he said no, no pickles. When I placed my order, I also stated no pickles in my burger. But both of our burgers came with pickles. And he got wings, which he want tenders. So be very careful if you have any allergies, the chef in the kitchen won't pay any attention to your order. 3. There's pink in the chicken drum. Although USDA states it happens sometimes even fully cooked. I'm not that comfortable when using a knife to cut the drum and blood (or a mixture of blood with juicy oil) flowing into the basket. But the food tastes good. 4. The maple sauce doesn't come with our order, when we start to eat, I asked my friend where is your maple sauce. He said jokingly 'Maybe they add it to the waffle mixture with buttermilk together. When we were almost done, the lady brought a small box of maple sauce and said 'Hey, you forgot your maple sauce'. I didn't say that f2f, but here is my thought.....em...xme... There are only two tables (4 customers altogether), am I forgetting to ask for it or it should come with the waffle at the beginning. 5. The tv face reception. None of the dining tables could watch the tv, all we could hear is extremely loud sound effects. 6. Last but not least, it seems that the lady doesn't know the menu or food well. When I asked which of the 17 flavors are spicy. She only spoke two words 'The buffalo.' So are the rest 16 flavors non-spicy? Anyway, the food is good. chicken wings are a little saltier than we thought. My friend and I all drank a Dunkin Donuts large iced tea from completely full to empty during the dining. We would definitely visit there next time. But we might choose to use GrubHub or hungrybutton. Though it's more expensive than ordering directly, we could see the detailed and optional charges more clearly. For example, Grubhub states the sauce is optional and needs to be paid extra. maple sauce charge extra $2+, and another sauce charge $3+...

OMGGG!!! The sandwich I got here was out of this world!! And everybody else's food in there looked outstanding! I use my RI Food Fights coupon for their Backyard BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich (normally $11.35). It was unreal. Juicy piece of chicken with a crispy outside and decent size. But the star was the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. I could drink that stuff straight lol. They were definitely generous with the amount of sauce they put on and it was perfectly getting everywhere. The only bone I have to pick is with the bun. The top was not soft, it was hard. Not sure if it was stale or something was messed up, but if it was soft like how brioche is, it would have made the sandwich even better. Everybody there waited a pretty long time for their food, but I now know that's because they are legit making things from scratch and really care about what they're giving to consumers. Very affordable prices too. I'll be back to try their chicken & waffles and maybe their Wake the Cluck Up Sandwich. Keep it up!

Move over Colonel, there’s a new bird in town and it’s cluckin’ amazing! Hey South Kingstown, run, don’t walk, to the URI Emporium where you will find The Stack House. Housed in the old New Wave Kitchen location, this former takeout only shop in PVD has moved down South, County, that is… Just one bite, of the hand-pounded, hand-breaded juiciest-of-tender-thighs lovingly draped in cheddar, spicy mayo, and pickles between the softest of brioche buns had me craving more! Add a side of sea-salt sprinkled sweet potatoe fries to seal the deal. Is it Sunday yet ‘cause I can’t wait to come back for breakfast..Oh wait, I don’t have to because they serve breakfast all day every day! Stop waffling and head on over to hello to our new neighbors Eddie, Blessing and the Stackhouse crew for some remarkable food that’s oh-so-comforting.

Last week I picked up the August copy of "Hey Rhody" and saw the Restaurant Guide. I liked the description of Stack House and even though it was in Kingston, I decided to take a leisurely 20 mile drive over there to pick up a few of their 20 different Southern Cuisine wings.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a young lady called Summer, the cashier. She was pleasant and paid attention to the questions I was asking about favorites, spiciness, etc. She excused herself when the phone rang, which was very polite, handled the call and got right back to me.

A gentleman also came out of the kitchen and let me know I could try different flavors as long as I ordered the 1 Pound or higher selection. I decided to try the 2 Pound with 16 pieces and different flavors of the wings and went with Chili Lime, Spicy Garlic Dry Rub, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub and Mango Habanero Dry Rub.

Summer said it would be ready in about 20 minutes so I walked around the fun shops in the plaza and returned 20 minutes later and the order was ready.  I left a tip for her genuinely pleasant service and headed out on my 40 minute back roads drive home to try them out.

That evening, I heated up pieces from each flavor in my air fryer for 8 minutes, poured a cold beer and dove in.  It was a pleasure eating the large pieces and they were evenly split between drums and flats which is the way all restaurants should do it. My order of preference was the Lemon Pepper and then Mango Habanero and a tie for the other two. The flavors were excellent and worth savoring.

I ranked my overall experience as 5 stars out of 5 with the service by Summer the reason I bought the 2 Pound vs. just the 1 Pound.  Whether it's a short drive or slightly longer, Stack House is worth it.  I'm looking forward to my next detour from my schedule and trying out their...

Just ordered using door dash. This is my first time purchasing from this place and I feel like I would have rather thrown my money in the garbage can instead of order this garbage!!! The chicken flavor is just okay but with the amount of hair on those chicken wings, I probably could have made a wig with. Chicken is raw, slimy and undercooked. I ordered biscuits with country gravy. I got two little hard dry as a bone biscuits with no gravy! I called and asked about the gravy and they said they discontinued it. Had I known that I would have never ordered these two little bite size dry biscuits!!! Who does that!!! Hopefully I can get a refund from door dash because this crap is not edible. I wouldn’t even give it to my dog and that’s a fact! I will never order from this place again and I don’t understand all the good reviews… must be drunk college students and everything taste good drunk!!! I’m posting pics of this nasty sheet! I’ll stick to poncho omalleys.. at least I know I won’t get sick from raw chicken...
