The food was more expensive than advertised, the special was 13.99 but everything else was $18-25. The service started wonderful, we were a large party of 11, so not surprised the food took a while to come out. but then in the middle of serving our food the waitress stopped and took an order for anther table, and then served them. Half our party didn't have their food when the owner came over to chat. Nice guy, lingered longer than I'd like mostly because we're hungry and tired from the drive... and we don't have our food yet. I thought I was just being grumpy and stuffed my feelings. The food has such promise, but really it was just peppery. The Irish stew was good, but a lot of pepper and no real depth. The special was a prime rib asks green chili sandwich. It was just salty. While we waited for the waitress to have us with her presence, the owner brought over a resort owner for a hard sale of his resort. I've sat through timeshare sales that were less pressure. Meanwhile the owner is standing there watching us share a single glass of water because of the lack of service. I did ask and he said she'd be right over with it. I finally had to ask them to stop and remind them we're already staying at a resort and we're familiar with the area. The waitress took forever to bring the check which they refused to spilt for us and enemies though it was terrible service, she did get an 18% tip. It was pretty ridiculous, ...
Read moreThe food here was good, but we had a horrendous experience with service. We were greeted and seated promptly, and a server took our beverage and food orders. Good so far. I saw our meals when they were placed on the pass from the kitchen, but we hadn’t seen our server at all since she brought our beverages. After a couple of minutes, a different server (she might be an owner or manager) saw our order and immediately brought it to our table. We never saw our server again. Ever. No one ever came by to ask if we needed anything, if our order was satisfactory, or if we wanted beverage refills. We saw two other servers hurrying about taking and serving orders, but it was as if we were invisible. Eventually, a young man from the kitchen came by and saw that we were finished with our meals and beverages. As he started to clear our dishes, we told him we had not seen our server since she took our order, and would he please track down our check. (He did). Second complaint was the half-hearted way my meal was plated. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich that was assembled so sloppily, I had to deconstruct and reconstruct it so the components were more evenly distributed. It was quite delicious once I made it into an actual sandwich, instead of the pile of ingredients I was served. Overall, this wasn’t a...
Read moreWe were visiting Zephyr Cove for 4 days and chose to eat at Casey’s due to the service and darn good food that is affordable.
The chili is award winning, you can definitely taste the winning combo of flavor and textures. If you don’t like heat ask for no topping.
The fish and chips were crispy; the haddock has a lovely flavor.
Our #1 love raving review are the tater tots -crunchy and a huge serving. I took the leftovers to our Airbnb and made the best egg scramble with spinach and cheese.
The Wedge Salad was nice and plenty for two. Crunchy, pretty good blue cheese- maybe ask for extra salad dressing. Bacon on it was very good.
The burger is HUGE and juicy -Hubby had to unhinge his jaw. I am a competition cook and a cooking competition judge so I will get technical here a moment. The bun is too sweet for the savory burger meat and takes away from the burger. And it is strange for me to say but I would reduce the meat patty to 6oz so a person could wrap their mouth around the burger.
Overall, we will continue to go to Casey’s because of the friendly accommodations service and have...
