Chipotle is one of my favorite restaurants and I was extremely excited to have one open up so close to home. I decided to go for the first time last night around 8 PM. I believe at this point the restaurant has been open atleast a couple weeks if not a month. On the front door there was a paper saying they were out of guac which was already a bad sign for me considering they are brand new and already out of a popular item. I waited about 15 minutes to get to the front of the line and start my order. While waiting, I overheard a lady ask if they forgot to put steak in her bowl. The guy apologized and said yes he had forgot, and got one of those tiny clear plastic cups that they put guac/sour cream/ect in and asked her if she could put it in herself since the bowl was already packaged up. She seems annoyed but said that was ok as long as she was given one of the bigger paper like cups instead. When I got to the front I asked for a chicken quesadilla, steak quesadilla, and bowl. The guy taking my order said quesadillas have to be ordered through the mobile app because they only have the new quesadilla machine in the back for mobile orders. I was irritated, but said ok I will just order my bowl here since I already stood in line and do the quesadillas on the app. So as normal he asks if I'd like white or brown rice, I said both. He looked down and responded with "well it looks like we are actually out of rice right now, do you mind if it doesn't have rice?" I was extremely annoyed because of course I want rice and I couldn't believe he asked if I could do without instead of telling me when more rice would be done. I said no I will just wait and he said that he wasn't sure when there would be more..? At that point I just said nevermind I am going to go somewhere else, and he apologized as I walked away. This experience definitely left a sour taste in my mouth which is very unfortunate because I absolutely love chipotle and was super excited about...
Read moreI suspect the manager short-staffs the restaurant, certainly the opening and closing cleaning shifts. The floor in the women’s restroom was sticky all over, and I can’t imagine it could get that sticky with you-know-what after only one lunch rush. Really an unappetizing immediate first impression on entering the restaurant. If you want to sell customers on food, it’s a bad idea to viscerally gross them out before they even order. I visited on a Friday at about 1:30 pm. The restaurant was empty of customers, and I could tell the staff were rushing to catch up with food prep behind the scenes and hadn’t had time yet to clean the food off of the floor, drink stand, etc, and they would have benefited from one more worker on staff. They needed a dedicated cashier+cleaner on this time slot, it seems they had to interrupt someone’s task in the back before they were able to spare someone to check out. There were enough signs of dust around that it seems management hasn’t scheduled a good top-to-bottom deep clean in a while, and management is really doing themselves a disservice in the impression it leaves on customers.
Positives! The food was hot and the greens and tomatoes were very fresh and flavorful. I was given excellent portions. The chicken didn’t taste as flavorful and well-seasoned as in the past, and I imagine that’s down to the recipe standards enforced at the location, and the quality of training over the years.
The food was fresh, hot, yet fell a bit short in how the meat was seasoned. The bathroom was gross. Seemingly short-staffed, and apparently lacked enough teammates to clean and stock after what I’m assuming must have been a lunch rush that showered the dining...
Read moreI feel this location has had issues since it's inception. It's hit or miss when it comes to getting quality food and service. The times I've been there to physically see employees make my food have been good; however, the times I have ordered carry out is a different story. For example: I order the carnitas bowl and pick up through the drive-thru. I get home and find that I have to discard if not most or all of the meat because I was served GLOBS of fat from the meat. I've also been given food with menu items I didn't order and/or the wrong order all together.
The cleanliness as of late is subpar. Whether I'm walking in to order my own food or pickup as a delivery service driver, the inside is just a mess.
I went in yesterday and placed a carry out order. The atmosphere is drab (meaning the employees facial expressions and body language suggest they are discontent.) After I check out, the person at the register picks up my bag of food, moves arm forward, drops bag on counter and tells me to have a great say. Does that interaction sound like this individual honestly hopes I have a good day? I don't think so. Instead why not say, "thank you for your business" and then carry on.
I've worked in the food service industry so I understand the ups and downs, labor shortages, high turnover, and young people working that are entering the workforce for the first time. It's hard. Very hard at times. Patrons can be a nightmare. Owner's and management can be lacking in many different ways. I can sympathize and empathize on many levels. But, this location has been open for years now and from my point of view progress improvement is slow moving if not at...
