I dined in the other day, and was more than a little disappointed. Let me start off with the positives; the atmosphere and display of the store is great, filled with nostalgic movies, memorabilia, even a couple arcade games. It's small, but I think they do the most with the space they can, and still allow an adequate amount of dine-in customers. The woman who was checking us out was pleasant and seemed to be in good spirits, which is always nice when dealing with customer service. I also appreciated the canned soda (I personally think soda is best in a can). Now to more somber reports. The burgers are advertised as "comic themed" on all accounts I've seen, and are based on certain comic book characters. I ordered the Symbiote: a burger themed after the Spider-Man villain, Venom. However, after waiting on around 45 minutes, my girlfriend and I were disappointed to receive plain looking burgers on sesame buns. The burgers were fine, but without the colorful bun, nothing to boast about, particularly when I bit into a piece of bacon fat nearly the width of the burger. The fries were also a disappointment. From the small advertisement we had, the fries appeared to be thicker potato wedges, but instead were plain-cut, little thicker than McDonald's. Visually, they were seasoned in something, but palette wise, it was hard to tell. Despite all this, I realize that it was perhaps a busier day than they were used to; as I understand it, they have only been open a couple of months, and there was a larger family gathering taking place at the same time. It's entirely possible that they ran out of buns and had no choice but to resort to plain sesame buns. That being said, I feel that is something that needs to be displayed at the counter, either visually via sign or verbally. After paying and leaving a four dollar tip, a total of $30 and about an hour of time, it's discouraging to not receive the gimmick you wanted, and settle for an...
Read moreIf anyone is looking for some delicious food near Ogden, Utah you should definitely go check out this new burger joint called Hollyfood Burger. It just opened a couple months ago and is such a great place to eat at. They have not only their restaurant but also their food themed to be characters from Avengers and other stuff like it. The owner Francisco is such an amazing guy too and loves to share his story of coming here with his family and how his restaurants themes came from both his sons which all their decor comes from their family's collection. Its decorated so fun and he's even got a couple retro games you can play for free while waiting for your food. The burgers are absolutely delicious and each one is created uniquely like different characters. I absolutely loved the new Hannibal burger which has double the bacon and triple the cheese which if yall know me you know those are two of my favorite things to eat lol. My kiddo tried the Venom themed burger which was delicious too and my man tried the Dark Knight themed burger which he also said was delicious. The fries were seasoned just right and tasted so yummy. Anyways if you got the time you should totally go...
Read moreI just saw a sign for this place on the way home. I’m always supportive of new places and wanted tot give it a try, though not expecting much.
He he he, this place was awesome! Not only is this a place that is full of movie themes, but the owners and crew were fantastic, and even lent me a robe and lightsaber to take pictures around the place. Just waiting for the food had me going around and nerding out about the stuff they have.
So onto the food. The hamburgers have homemade buns that are colored. It’s hard to make colored buns that taste good, they succeeded very well. It’s rare to find a place where the buns are homemade and taste so good. The rest of the burgers matched perfectly well with the buns. Not only were they visually pleasing and whimsical, but perfectly seasoned. The fries were good, with a good spice added to them.
Where we now live in an age of chain food, it’s hard for places like this to exist. Coming into a place like this where I’m entertained by stepping in and fed really good food. I need a place like this. Ogden needs a place like this. Try it out and see how...
