Disappointing. What we ordered for $75 (Pickup):
Crab and cream cheese wantons. Not crispy/soggy, undercooked.
Hot and Sour Soup. Was oddly sweet (like sweet and sour sauce was added) but also flavorless. To not waste the food, I doctored it up with rice vinegar, white pepper, ginger powder , chili sauce and soy sauce to make it palatable but still wasn’t great because of the sweetness.
General Tso’s Chicken. Not crispy/soggy, not spicy, and really red like food coloring was added. Wasn’t the deep golden color I’m used to. And actuality didn’t seem too far off the description another reviewer described it as being like chicken nuggets covered in sauce.
Salt and pepper pork chop. Similar to the other fried items we got with being not crispy/soggy and batter kind of just caked onto the meat. It’s like their fryer isn’t turned up high enough and/or they aren’t using potato starch in their batter.
Beef lo mein. This was actually the best part of the meal. No complaints with the noodles. They were flavorful pleasantly chewy and well seasoned.
Kung Pao Chicken. I’m not a fan of this dish anyway, but my husband seemed to like it okay.
So 2 stars because the noodles were good, portions were decent and the place and food seemed clean (no hair or weird non-eatable stuff in the food and restaurant looked well kept). I agree the with other reviews of the price being high especially for the poor quality. I’m happy to pay this amount, but for better food. I would try it again if the owner reached out with an update of improvements but until then, I’m still searching for decent Chinese food in the area without having to...
Read moreUpdate * I had a great conversation with Nancy. She wanted details of exactly what happened with my experience and was very positive and happy to amend our experience. I will give the South Ogden location another shot. Hoped it will be a better experience. Placed and an order over the phone for pick up. Nothing I ordered was correct except for the sweet and sour. Which would have been in a combo. I went in once after looking at my receipt and saw that everything I had ordered was not right. The lady with the color hair was very abrasive and rude. She obviously has never heard the customer is always right. A different lady came from the back and tried to correct the mistakes on the receipt. Turns out they were out of what I had ordered and never told me on the phone. Once home and opened the containers we realized than we had only part of our order correct. We ordered all combos and one received one. The rest was all a cart. And order cashew nut chicken as was also on the receipt but ended up with Szechwan chicken. Not I’m pressed with front of house staff. Anna was trying to accommodate. But I will...
Read moreSo let me start off by saying I have a lot of experience with Asian Cuisine. I was excited to see a Chinese restaurant close to home. However my excitement was crushed on multiple levels. First soup: egg drop- their egg drop soup is nothing more than Campbell’s chicken noodle soup with egg poured in. Hot and sour: at least this had all of the right ingredients but it had and orange flavor that over powdered everything else. We selected the Mongolian Beef dinner that comes with SS chicken, fried rice, an egg roll, fried tempura style shrimp, and fried cheese wonton. The Mongolian beef was way soupy, it looked like stew. The sauce was okay and the onion and green onions were done well. The plus side was they provided a good amount of meat with the dish. The fried rice was bland and dry, with smoked ham, scrambled egg, some soy sauce and under cooked rice. The sweet and sour chicken was frozen chicken nuggets heated up and plum sauce poured over. It was a disappointment and a joke to even call...
