Coming from Texas, I had high hopes for this Mexican restaurant after reading reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. My sister and I tried the chicken and asada tacos, and both meats were incredibly bland—we had to add salt and pepper multiple times just to make them enjoyable. The 3 street tacos came on mini corn tortillas, and the rice was undercooked, crunchy, and tasteless.

I ordered a frozen mango margarita that tasted like a mango smoothie, so I sent it back and ordered a Grand Marnier margarita on the rocks. What came out didn’t even seem to have Grand Marnier in it—it was light green like a regular margarita, unlike my sister’s, which had the expected brown tint. After the margarita incident, the waiter came back to take the order but clearly didn’t want to be bothered with us after that. She only briefly asked if we were okay after passing by our table to exit the room from attending to the other table in the room.

What made the experience even worse was that we were seated in the back room, even though there were plenty of open tables in the main dining area. We are people of color, but we are not Mexican, and it didn’t go unnoticed that we were placed in a room with only one other table, which had loud children. The booths in that room were also very tight—I’m of a small frame, and even I felt cramped. It was an uncomfortable and unnecessary seating choice.

On the bright side, the service was fast—maybe too fast. Our taco plates came out in less than 7 minutes, and the asada meat looked like it had been pre-cut to resemble ground beef (not sure if that’s the norm in Utah's carne asada). The chicken was also cut in small pieces to fit the small tortillas. For two margaritas and two taco plates, the total was $63 before the $11 tip, which felt steep for the quality.

Unfortunately, this was an all-around disappointing experience, and I won’t be returning. Hoping to find a better Mexican spot...

11/2023 update. What has happened? Stopped in for late lunch. Service was not good at a not so really busy time. Waitress issues. Got drinks and ordered food. Food came in a timely manner. There was no offer for drink refills. No follow up on meal quality. No waitress, lol. Towards end of meal offered togo box and check. No offer for dessert.Observed other customers' waitresses service. Seemed management was absent or standards of service have been dropped.

The food. Presentation on a plate does not equate to the quality of the product. You can't juge the food off looks alone. The complimentary chips were good, but picante/salsa was beyond mild. Ordered small combo. Taco shell was one degree from being burned. Burrito filling had more refried beans than pork, where's the meat.. Cheese enchiladas, how can you mess them up. Over a year now, and what a lapse in atmosphere, food, and service. We didn't complain as the changes were overwhelmingly disappointing and problematic to management. Need to find another restaurant that appreciates customer service and provides a quality meal at a fair price.

Nice Mexican restaurant, service and causine. I preferred the food here compared to Javiers which I feel is overrated by my peers. The only thing that disappointed me was one item on my plate was not as hot as other items, we were there at off time during holidays so I gave them a pass as they were just gearing up for business. Worst customer service ever and owner unwilling to make things right. I hope the $35 was worth it Maria. Shameful. Ordered take out after a long hard day of working and they let me leave with only half of our dinner. She handed me the bag tied tightly with a knot. Once at home we realized we were missing half the meal, called and drove all the way back. She handed me the food with a weak apology. I asked to be compensated for the plate they made me come all the way back for and she said no she couldn’t. We asked for a manager and was told they had both gone home already. No one was in charge. Not the slightest attempt to make things right was made. At this point we handed back the platter and asked for a full refund. Again, nothing but weak apologies. Finally the girl called her manager and the manager said to refund the part of the meal that was missing annd take the food back. Even though now our entire dinner was cold. Manager also said to refund in cash because they could not refund on my card. Irritation grew to angry and we told the girl to call her manager again so we could talk to them. The manager refused to comp our meal unless we drove home and brought the rest of the dinner back. Are you kidding me? Is $35 worth the $100’s you will lose by us never coming back? Are we that unimportant to you? Maria!!! This does not make us whole! We love your restaurant but we will never step foot in your restaurant or spend another dollar on your kitchen ever again. We have never been treated so dismissively at any restaurant before while you did so...
