I was really looking forward to ordering from this restaurant as I discovered they provide an option to prepare burgers in a lettuce wrap. I called and placed my order and was greeted with such hostility and unprofessionalism by the woman taking orders via the phone. She was really bad, but I still proceeded and maintained my excitement. I entered the establishment to be greeted again with rudeness and unprofessionalism by the same woman who answered the phone. She barely made eye contact with myself and any customer who came into the restaurant. I was charged $15 for what I thought was a burger with toppings, a lettuce wrap and fries.
I paid for the order and waited. I waited way beyond the indicated wait time, but that wasn't an issue, I figured they were busy. She threw my bag of food on the counter and mumbled something. I had to literally walk over to the counter and peek inside the bag to discover it was my order. Guess what? The order was incorrect, I explained to the same woman what I ordered. She came back with the bag again. Guess what? The order was still incorrect then she said she had to charge me more money because she didn't add the fries into the order. Still with such a nasty attitude and not a hint of an apology from her. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager because the nasty attitude, unprofessionalism, inability to take an order that was explained more than 4 times needed to be addressed. A guy who was cooking and preparing orders came from the back and introduced himself as the manager/owner, I became even more embarrassed for the place. Can he not see this employee was rude to everyone who walked inside the store? He kindly apologized and I left. So I take my 17 dollar meal (which I don't mind paying for good food) for two burgers and fries home. The fries were cold and undercooked, the burger was halfway decent and the lettuce wrap was horrible. Both burgers were missing toppings that I paid for and I asked several times to be put on the burgers. I am not that guy to write reviews, but this experience was really bad. If you paid me, I would not step foot back into this restaurant. Check your order before you leave...NO LIKE..REALLY...check your order and I strongly encourage you to voice any encounter...
Read moreI have so many things too say about this business, I was in here eating in with a group of 9 people April 20, around 6:28pm. I was check #153. The customer service there when I walked in to BGR was highly disrespectful. They seemed like they didn't care about there job and what they were doing. I was friendly and smiling the whole time when I was ordering but when I was ordering with the woman she seemed too be extremely rude and disrespectful. She was dark skin, with braids in her hair. Was rolling her eyes the whole time when I was ordering had an attitude not smiling or not caring like she worked there. The food was great but not what I was expecting, she never asked how would my burger liked it too be cooked. I go there all the time and there always seems too be super friendly and polite. The other woman who was tall with a red hair wrap on her head didn't seem nice eather. The younger gentleman seemed very friendly. I work in the food industry business in town as well and I would never treat customers like they treated me there. I called the store the next day and asked too speak too the manager about what happened, and I explained too her the situation and all she said was I'm sorry this happened too you next time you come in we can give you something for free. I still have the copy of my receipt. Highly disappointed and hope something can change. I come in here all the time and the food is amazing and every time I come in here the staff and management are wonderful but that day when I ordered I was highly...
Read moreI went to BGR (South Orange) and ordered their Wagyu-Truffle Burger (Medium Rare) w/ a Fried Egg, Raw Red Onions, Lettuce, Tomato, Sharp Cheddar, Mayo, & Avocado. My side was their Mac n Cheese. Accompanied by their Oreo Handspun Shake. The burger was very middling, not at all what I expected from a ‘Wagyu Beef-Truffle’ Burger. I’d give the burger’s flavor a 4/10. Their Mac n Cheese, was subpar at best, would give it maybe a 2-3/10. But their Oreo Shake was phenomenal! 7/10, easily! My burger did not come with the Avocado, nor did it come Medium Rare, as ordered. Could have just been an order error. The staff was very caring and excellent at customer service. The person who took my order was very patient and an excellent salesman. The place was very clean and orderly, and the option to dine-in was a huge plus! I’d rate my total experience (maybe just for this specific time), a 6/10. The ambience is so vital to a great experience, and that boosts my total score for the experience a little higher. The food on the other hand was very middling at best. For $26 my expectations were through the roof, but I would not let it hinder me from going there again to try something different! I would absolutely try BGR (South Orange) again, but this time with a better grasp of what I am getting into. All-Around the food was ok, the staff was amazing, and the overall experience was...
