The Learning Experience - South Orange — Local services in South Orange

I am so grateful for the incredible experience my child has had at TLE. He started at 14 months in the infant classroom and is currently in the toddler classroom.

Both the teachers and staff are welcoming and nurturing; each staff member creates a warm environment where my son feels truly cared for and safe. It's evident that the teachers take time to get to know children individually, fostering their unique growth and development. Staff members have created a positive relationship with my son through making connections and understanding his likes and dislikes. We are welcomed by the friendliest faces each morning at the front desk, and my son is all smiles. Additionally, he is so excited to see his teachers and classmates when he enters his classroom.

Communication at TLE is excellent — I receive daily updates through pictures and notifications on their app, in addition to emails from the Center. I appreciate the thoughtful parent-teacher conferences that keep me informed about my child's progress. Teachers also regularly share updates verbally at drop off and pick up.

The classroom space is clean, cheerful, and inviting, and the activities are always developmentally appropriate, ensuring my child is engaged and learning. Additionally, the daily time spent outside (weather permitting) is wonderful, giving the kids a chance to explore and play.

TLE also provides many special celebrations throughout the year to recognize holidays and family traditions that family members can take part in. From holiday cookie decorating to Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations, there are multiple opportunities to visit and spend time in your child's classroom. Most recently, I got to be a guest reader during Read Across America. This was such a special experience.

Our experience has been great at TLE SO.! My 5YO daughter did a summer there last year enjoying their challenging curriculum and activities, but the biggest impact has been on our two year old.

Our little guy has been a challenge for us, and didn’t take so well to the previous daycare he attended in the area. While they were a fine facility, TLE SO has proven to be the best fit for us.

I showed up to their facility one day after a particularly rough morning at our old location and Ms Bre was very supportive and allowed me to see the facility including the class he would be in. I knew we needed to make the transition. Additionally, we are receiving services for him (speech/behavior intervention) he is a great kid, not easiest though and they made it an easy transition for us and those professionals. Most of all I have felt that the children in his class are very happy in that school environment and that is a direct response to the leadership (Ms. Bre) and the classroom plus aftercare teachers. While this should be a given, it was less evident at our last experience. I was amazed to see him go from crying at drop off to running into the classroom and dancing. All the kids welcome him inside like one big party. I’ve even seen this same energy in other classrooms, not sure if it’s the TLE structure or the training but the teachers seem invested. It’s hard enough being a parent daily, but leaving my child here has been an absolute game changer. I’m grateful for the people who do this work well in general but I have a greater appreciation for those who do it like...

I am so beyond thrilled that we found TLE South Orange! My daughter started in the infant room at 11 months. I was very nervous and excited for her to start daycare. I just moved to NJ, started a new job, and working full time so the stress of thinking about leaving my first child for such long periods of everyday was really making me feel so guilty. I toured a few places in the area that were fine, but felt cold when I was seeing the teacher/baby interactions. At TLE South Orange that was NOT the case. It has been SO SO SO WONDERFUL to feel the love and care that her teachers show her and all the students!! All the staff are kind and welcoming. She now jumps up and run for the door when we tell her to get ready for school on the morning! This period of time is so crucial for kids to be loved, cared for, and safe and we felt that from the first day! We are now in our second room and the transition felt flawless!
