I can't gush enough about this place!! I made a reservation for four o'clock, even though the restaurant does not formally open until five. The owner texted me and rushed to the restaurant to open its doors just to accommodate me. I had the whole place to myself for one hour. During that time I had the chance to speak with a co-owner about hosting a wedding there. I originally had plans to host my wedding in Manhattan, chasing down restaurants with Michelin starred chefs and austere world class rankings, then I decided to give this place a try. I have been converted! The owner sat with me for an entire hour to answer about fifty planning questions I gathered from the internet, everything from organization to decorations to pricing. You name it, the owner answered everything with ease and laid back confidence in the service and quality of product they offer at this restaurant. The pricing is amazing...I can rent out the whole restaurant for a ceremony in the main dining room, the party room for the reception and patio for a post reception coffee/tea s'mores social for only the per plate pricing (the catering menu is on the website). I would have the whole place for four hours!
My first impression of the restaurant (walking up to it) is that it's a cozy, intimate family run restaurant with handicap accessibility (and tons of parking available on a Sunday) that immediately put me at ease. Even with loud construction going on outside, the inside is a delightfully peaceful fine dining atmosphere with music and comfortable cushioned chairs.
The food is incredible. I ordered the file mignon because I saw a picture on the Grubhub website and wanted to give it a try. I asked for it to be well done, and the whole thing was a savory well presented plate that begged to be eaten more with every bite. I think this might have been one of the best meals of my life, and to be honest I need to learn some self control with food this delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection, and even with my chronic stomach problems, the food is digesting smoothly. The sauces are made from scratch in house, nothing processed or mass produced here. It's the home cooked meal you didn't know you were missing in your life.
Every table has a bottle of the hand sanitizer, which I thought was a nice touch. I honestly think this place could compete with any Manhattan restaurant any day. What a hidden gem! I am very seriously considering choosing this place as my wedding venue because every priority I have for my wedding is met with this restaurant. When I consider what food I would feed my out of state guests that would make the cross country trip worth it, I cannot think of any other place that would beat Giorgio's Ristorante. I want something laid back and true to myself without being a banquet hall that's a huge put on and will break the bank. The setting is exactly what I am looking for, not over the top fancy, but something that can certainly deliver a memorable experience and still be accommodating. I have a lot of freedom to do what I want. It also seems like I don't need a wedding day coordinator because everyone is so involved with the smooth execution of their events. Couple all of this with live musicians and decorations, and I really think I can throw the wedding of my dreams and provide my guests with a highly satisfying experience! But really this place gives me that chance to inject some heart where New York City might not.
The servers, Mario and Michael are young, eager and bright eyed professionals who are relatable and super friendly. I felt the owner took all of my inquiries seriously (no matter how much I went on and on about irrelevant details) with the utmost respect. I watched as one of the owners served a couple with a hard of hearing elderly patron with maturity and care. This place operates on a sincerely high level but with incredible modesty and ease, probably because they have been around almost as long as I have been alive! These people...
Read moreI ate at this restaurant on my birthday and it’s lovely, magnificent, delicious and outstanding. This is definitely my favorite restaurant in New Jersey! The atmosphere is lovely both inside and outside, with a lovely gas lamp right outside the restaurant. The table cloths, napkins, antique chairs, antique wall portraits, and the outdoor decorations are magnificent. The servers are polite, observant and caring. Whenever I was running out of water or bread the servers gave me more right away. The food is delicious. I had a penne alla russa and cannoli and it was the best that I ever tasted. I even had to take some penne alla russa home with me. The cannoli was delicious as well! If you eat outside the restaurant, you can see the lovely sunset and the moon. The parking right behind the restaurant was fine as well. They even played peaceful calm jazz and classical music in the loudspeaker. The customers around me seemed very happy and friendly. I would definitely eat in this restaurant again for as many times as I can. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys upper class dining...
Read moreMy siblings and I planned a 90th birthday celebration for our Mom. From the moment I stepped into Giorgio’s, I knew this was the perfect venue for our celebration. And working with Janet and her son Anthony was the icing on the cake. Janet was such a professional and helped me to pick out the perfect menu. With my type A personality and the worrywart that I am, I’m sure I tried her patience. But both she and Anthony remained the consummate professionals. On the day of the event, as the guests were arriving, Janet pulled me aside, looked me straight in the eye and said, we got this, go and celebrate your Mom…you’re lucky to have her. Needless to say, the day turned out wonderful. From the cocktail hour with the delicious hor d’oeuvres served on the patio, to the sit down dinner in the lower dining area with choice of Rib Eye, Chicken Francese and Salmon Capri. Our guests are still raving about the restaurant and the food. This pic says it all! Again, thank you so much Janet and Anthony for helping to make my Mom’s 90th BD a day that will be in our...
